You think you know us, but you don't. Muahahahahah!

Stargazing is also on my TODO list, but so far I've only managed to get a book on telescopes. :D

Birdwatchers also do something similar to astrophotography, they attach digital cameras to magnifying glasses using special adapters. In your case you'll probably want to use a telescope in conjunction with a SLR camera?

I'd love to do astrophotography. Unfortunately, I live less than 100km from Tokyo. :(

    I think E.T does astrophotography.

Well, I should have been a little more specific I guess. What Im looking for is maybe some tips and general information. I had some questions about T adapters and how you take photos with a T adapter of what you are looking at if your not using the eyepiece stuff like that.

I did the research already onto what kind of scope is good for the most amateur of amateur idiot astronomers who doesn't know anything and came up with the Celestron NexStar Series. I went ahead and bought a 4" model in a package that included extra eyepieces some mobile power dock etc. Found here.

I bought the T adapter and the ring to fit the adapter to my wifes Nikon D50. I guess it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but then Ive never done it before so I was hoping someone else has.

Some of the websites I have come across seem to be people who just take photos and dont talk much outside of patting each other on the back for a photo well done.

SpiritOne, with a t-adapter you can use any prime focus telescope, I was looking at some from Orion Telescopes and the guys there answered my questions about attaching one to a DSLR. they were quite helpful.

  • I heard you have to spend 6000 dollars to get the good shots.

I've seen examples of some of the shots through Orion's $1k scopes that are pretty darn nice. but you can go crazy and spend a fortune.
