    Good god.
  • Its sad that everything Orwell and Moore wrote about, is coming true.

Didn't they write those things to make sure they didn't happen?

Aldous Huxley's brave plan has been fulfilled already, so why not implement some of Orwell's ideas too? If just to make it all more confusing...

As I understand it, the scheme as it's existed so far has been purely voluntary (although we all know how "voluntary" some things can be...). However, the fact that it exists at all is pretty shocking.

Yes, it's shocking but not for the obvious reasons. That must be some parents when they need supervision to raise their kids properly.

I should be shocked, but somehow I'm not. Sometimes I think maybe I'm far too cynical when it comes to our government, then I see something like this which makes me think I'm about right afterall
  • Erm, I'm fairly certain this is false.

    Excellent. :D

Spoiler: You know, my short answer to your short post almost certainly proves that Huxley was right.. Meh, why have discussion when you can have distraction?

except it's posted on Wired, a reliable source. Who's source is the Daily Express, which from what I can find, is a fairly reliable source. (Eg, not a tabloid)

Its reasonably reliable, but only somewhere in the middle between a tabloid and one of the boadsheets like the Times or Telegraph

Huh. I read some of A Brave New World Years ago but didn't find it interesting, so I didn't get that far. Sounds better than I thought. Maybe I should try it again.
