Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
Well, about 1 hour ago, my vision started getting blurry.. Slowly it got better, but now my left hand went numb.. It's starting to feel better after about 15 mins.. and then my sight went blurry for a few minutes again...

And now everything is very slowly returning to normal.

No it didnt.. now it's getting more blurry again. And the feeling is numb too...

Well.. off work in 30 mins.

That meat I ate today did taste a bit strange... :)

If it persists, go see a doctor asap. A friend of mine had something similar and it turned out he'd had a minor stroke
• Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
I am feeling better now. After eating. Feeling a bit hot, and slight headache but the other symptons are gone.

The stroke was first thing what I thought too, especially with the numb hand. I have had similar stuff in the past, but got over it.

But yea.. Considering what happened last time I had it, I'll be monitoring myself pretty well tomorrow. :)

Got to dig out my NI card ready just in case.. Good thing the hospital is only like a mile away from where I work.

I figure its just the stress and being pissed off at work. Being the only person covering the lines for the whole country cuz some weak ass cunts decided to have day off for hangover.

Sound a bit like the migraines I get nowadays. I used to get a ton of a headache that made me puke. Nowadays, only my vision and feeling is altered, no headache.

Just keep an eye on it Refa, that sorta of stroke can repeat multiple times but permanent damage can occur. Not that Im sure how we'd tell with you :p
• SpiritOneSpiritOne Magneto ABQ NM
yeah refa, go see a doctor and get yourself scanned. Those are mild stroke signs.

Dont mess with your health man, thats serious stuff.

As far as migraines go. After 14 years of getting these dam things I finally have some relief. Turns out I have sleep apnea. I don't sleep well at night, I wasn't entering REM sleep. My airway would close when I lost muscle tension causing my oxygen level to drop, brain would keep me semi-conscious to keep my muscle tension up. Started sleeping with a C-pap machine keeps my airway open at night. Been doing it since Feb and have maybe had 4 headaches since then. Talk about life changing.

You work in hospitals.

No, he watches medical TV shows, religiously. :D
• Like in Dr. House, shouldn't we start with the most catastrophic and unknown diseases and then move the most obvious ones?

Biggles: true, but thats waaaay after I first knew the guy ;)

I havent watched any medical shows at all recently. I did watch House for the first couple of seasons, but I got a bit bored of the very formulaic stories:

"oh I have a theory....no not that! ok, i have another theory.....no not that one either! Ok, its nearly the end of the show....must be third time lucky then! Yes it is!"

We were recommended to watch it in our pathology classes tho, as it is medically quite accurate
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
How about a seizure? A tiny seizure could that have caused symptoms like that?
• Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
It wasn't lupus.
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
Well, as long as you haven't lost your sense of humour you should do just fine. :D

Its never lupus

This sketch from Mad TV sums it up: (sorry about video quality, best I could find) skip to 4:30.

This is not so weird. They didnt find anything wrong with me.

I'm slightly under weight currently. But that's about all. And by slightly, we're talking 80 kg with 198 cm height. According to my calculations it's about 3 kg under the "best".. I'm aiming for 88 kg. Cuz I like a good even number.

Good to hear that this may have just been a glitch. I'm recovering from an interesting night myself.

I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about... when everything in your insides wants to be on your outside. :p

I guess I'll learn it eventually to not go for the shrimp salad when the ambient climate resembles that of a tropical forest.

I just hate gastrointestinal problems. It almost spoiled my Sunday. I'm feeling better now, but I didn't get much sleep.

I generally dont sleep well at all these days. I've got chronic dermatitis over most of my body, which means that I'm constantly itching and scratching at night. I'm getting light treatment at the moment which usually helps, but it'll be a few weeks yet before it starts to kick in
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
Isn't that stress related?
• ShadowDancerShadowDancer When I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie." London, UK
Nope, not as far as I can tell anyway. Im totally unstressed at the moment
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
We can fix that (the unstressed part), ShadowDancer. Just come by IRC and ask to see the photo Worf keeps posting for you :)

Well, the last 24 hours have been relatively strange again as well.

I started work at 7 pm yesterday (its 6:46 pm here atm), and I was feeling fine.. More than fine actually. I felt great.

Then over the course of few hours, my throat started aching and I started getting flu symptons.. By 7 am when I got off work I was feeling like the shit. At home I found out I got 39.5 degree fever and every part of my body ached.

I kept waking up every few hours, and checked my temperature then (coincidentally, every time I woke up the clock was at 6 something, like 9:46, 10:56 or 13:16). By 5 pm my fever had gone down to 37.1 degree. It's still pretty high for me, as my normal temperature is about 35.4-36. But yea.. As said, now the closer to 7 pm it gets the more normal I feel again.
• Sure it isn't the onset of werewolfism?
• Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
I've had that for years.

It's time to shave myself again.. Every friggin' month, sometimes twice. Sheesh.
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
How about getting a complete medical check-up with an extensive blood analysis?
