Space Quest? Fuck yeah!
Youre looking for Leisure Suit Larry Methinks. :p

Nah, but Space Quest rules, I grew up on that shit (and LSL)..

Although I'm guessing it will be a rerelease of the old games on Steam, rather than a remake or something new.

Worf
• RubberEagleRubberEagle What's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
I'll believe it when i play it.

a new game that is... (or a decent release of TIE-Fighter with it's amazing midi-music, not the crap generic cut-and-paste-from-John-william's-scores-music that they used later)

If it's something new, it'll probably be set during the clone wars.

As long as it were the same flightsim style of gameplay, I wouldn't actually mms if it were in the clone wars period. Ok the fighters aren't as pretty as the classic ships (IMHO), but some of the capital ships are pretty sweet. There would also be the potential for some pretty epic fleet battles. That's one of the few things about the x-wing games I didn't like, that the cap ships were mainly just moving targets; beyond shooting rather ineffectively at you, they never actually did anything. A modern game engine would hopefully fix that
• I'll think about buying it if it's an update... but XvT had some serious drawbacks... like a storyline. The XWA engine or better to it would be interesting.... but better mission making capabilites. Unfortunatly though, I won't start modding again. If it's a new format...I'm not taking the time to learn something new. And if it's the same game... I have nothing that's really compat with XvT anymore, mostly XWA junk. Im also pretty sure that XvT didn't support the rudder on a joystick. I agree with SD that the cap ships had a problem with firing. You put turrents on anything on a light freighter or smaller and you got pratically an invincible ship in XWA. And the AI differed between the Imperial Lasers and Rebel Lasers. I did intensive modding on both games, and the limits are quite extensive on both engines. Hit detection was pretty shoddy as well. I could litterly fly an x-wing's wing half way though an asteroid without damage. I've been dreaming of a new game for ages, but alas the gaming and modding world put my type out with the fishes (Cement shoes and all).

Don't worry, Trident. I think we can rest assured that any new game won't use the XWA engine.
• Well I know for a new game everything would most likely be done from scratch or someone else's engine. I'm just afraid how much they might mess it up. (Example: Battlefront 2 - Capitals shoot machine guns... a hanger bay on the side of an ISD... the rebel troop transport is a Republic Gunship... yea what ever... ) And Empire at War was their last flop. Hopefully they would also find someone who knows how to make some decent netcode for MP. XVT and XWA had not so good code for that.
The only thing I wish they would include in a game if they done it right, able to put like custom wing and nose art to personalize your craft. I have a huge list of what I think should be in a new game, but that's the only option I think that many people would like.

A couple of weeks ago some friends of mine and I tested XvT online with several missions and it worked just fine, no lag or anything like that.

Worf
• Trident, maybe you, me and some talented coders should try to put something together.
• That be nice RA. I think my 3d modeling is really out of date though.. I still suck creating stuff in 3dsmax and still havn't figured out how to uvwrap or make uvwrap textures... I'm stupid I know.

Worf: Well I havn't tried XvT since broadband because I hate not having the rudder. XWA I had major problems though. I've had red ping on people down the street from me using the same internet provider, and online if I could find some of my old flying buddies, was a crapshoot as well. I just think the internet hates me in my area... wish I could afford the optical internet...sigh.
