They did, 'The Long Way Round' and 'The Long Way Down'. Both are worth watching, although the first one was the better of the two.
Currently watching The Long Way Round. It started off a bit slow, but it's turning out into a personal cross country challenge half-way through. Three motorcycles, two support ATV's, two movie actors (Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman) and their crew trying to cross two continents, Eurasia and North America.
So far Mongolia and the far eastern part of Siberia have tested their gear and spirits to their limits. They went out to seek adventure. That's basically what they found and more.
Finished watching both The Long Way Round and The Long Way Down. I agree, the first one is the better of the two as there is something special about doing anything for the first time. Even though it wasn't easy driving down the African continent, they benefited from their experiences gathered in the first trip.
I guess there won't be any further episodes of Man vs. Wild anytime soon.
I don't suppose the Discovery Channel dispute involves... money? ;)

If this had been a real survival situation, he'd probably be dead now.
