Doctor Who Christmas Special

WORFWORF The Burninator
Not quite as cinematic and epic as Voyage of the Damned but it was an enjoyable story.
I figured out he wasn't the Doctor before the title sequence, he didn't recognise his younger self and that his sonic screwdriver was just a screwdriver.

Getting to see the previous doctors was a really nice touch.

Not really sure what else I can say but I liked it.
[SP]I though that there was going to be some resolution given that we now know that David Tennant is leaving, I thought at least it would end on some cliff hanger or that the new Doctor would be revealed. Oh well[/SP]

He's not leaving for another 4 specials.

Spoiler: You could tell he wasn't the new Doctor: he's not Stephen Fry.

Ok so I thought that that was bad. One of the worst episodes I've ever seen.
There was no context to the important characters (who was that woman and why the hell should we care about her?, who are the 4 men that they used to round up the kids?, why kids? they've never bothered with kids before) who was the sidekick anyway- seriously too Martha Jones, Kings are men, not women , the fake doctor was really obvious and a giant cyberman? come on! AND, this woman who had made a deal withe cyberman all of a sudden got remorseful?
at least with the Daleks there was context , like previous episodes where the wanted a different Dalek, the ability to evolve, it just seemed like they needed a different villian but didn't want to invent someone new and were running out of ideas this episode doesn't follow cybermen qualities at all.
geez... I bet David Tennant wanted to leave after he saw that script! Bad bad Mr Davies!!
I can only hope that David Tennant gets a much better exit when the time comes.

Spoiler: Those kids were from workhouses. In the time period, poor children often ended up in those places and were pretty much slaves to the owners (the men that the Cybermen took control of). Nobody really cared about them, so they're an ideal work force for the Cybermen who weren't ready to attract attention to themselves yet.

I guess but they didn't seem to work for very long and there wasn't much context so if you didn't get it, you were confused.
  • Okay, so I knew I'd missed the Christmas Special, that's not really a surprise.

But who let them release a Series 4 soundtrack without telling me?!?
  • BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
    I did.

Just in case you missed it (like I did): Doctor Who: Dreamland (Animated)

Enjoy, for those of you who do. :D
  • WORFWORF The Burninator
The animation is really bad in it :/

No one has talked about the Waters or Mars and the first half of The End of Time.
  • StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
You are being gentle. There is hardly any animation in it. It should have been called Doctor Who: The Animated-Not-So-Special.

"The Infinite Quest" looked a lot better. A. Lot. Better. If they try another one next year, I hope they go back to that look. Or try something new. Anything but barely-moving lackluster toon-rendered CGI.
