My dad just had to have the cat we had when I was growing up put to sleep this weekend, and I've been thinking about getting one.

Sanfam can't shoot a sharp photo and if his life depended on it. :D (Field of depth is overrated!)

My dog, Kizzy
I dont know, I'd certainly have that first one with the Brown cat sleeping in a collection. The lighting in that image is supurb! and it follows the rules of 3rds so...
;)

no flash and barely any light = f/1.8 and some luck :p (to capture the dogs without blurring, I had to shove it down to ISO3200 at f/1.8 to get anything even remotely stable handheld)
Should have asked for a Digital Rebel for Christmas. heh
@JackN some of those pics are a little scary! The cat with the smile, playing dead?
And the possum is damned freaky.
You don't look like a remark to me. :D And that's my good deed for the day. Carry on.
They are pets only in the most losest sence of the word. They are not captives of my home by any means. And yes the free food, fresh water, and the box shelters I have built for them outside are their incentives. ;)
In other news:
Someone gave us an XMas present yesterday by dumping a puppy up the road, he made his way down the hillside pasture and into the creek where he couldn't get out of. Sadie and I heard him yelping like mad, and we eventually located his little black furry body stuck on a ledge bawling his lungs out.
We called several neighbors who say they aren't missing any puppies, so we're guessing he was an unwanted XMas present. He looks to be part Chow and maybe a little Pomeranian? The Mouth and Nose look Polmeranian. Who knows for sure, we'll learn soon enough.
Yes, we are keeping him, but I cannot keep anymore. His name is Sydney.

I've never seen a dog with blue eyes like that before.
