changing hd in laptop..

Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
yea... I was wondering, what is the easiest and fastest way to change a hd in laptop?

Is it possible to buy an external case for laptop hd, then copy totally everything from the current hd inside the laptop there, and then switch their places.. so it would start up and be like it had always been inside?

And why wasnt I told how much a difference upgrading into 2 gb of ram from 1 gb it does to the stability of gaming and other forms of entertainment..

That is a no duh situation my friend...

    As for your hd problem.

    Look here

It should start up, yes its plug and play so it should detect. I've never done what you've asked and I can't find anything on google either.

    Somebody else might know.

I do that all the time using an external enclosure and Norton Ghost, but CloneZilla also works well (i use it for linux, never tried it with windows, but it says it'll do fat/ntfs).

So.. it should be possible to change the internal hd like that?

Maybe even do the partition on it while its still plugged in as regular external...

Would be so much easier with a desktop, doing these things.. but I hate those huge clunky boxes especially when need to travel.
