DVD?!

So I need a free DVD player on my machine...But all the ones I've found are trials any suggestions?

    Okay thanks gonna give it a try. I've had mixed results with VLC in the past but its a been while so maybe the kinks are all out worked out.

    Hmm looks like it still has some kinks...I played the DVD and there was quite a bit of palette corruption.

    Also ponder installing the Community Codec Pack, or the KLight Codec Pack...if you are getting some image corruption, possibly a faulty driver.

    Also in VLC, try changing the render device, that can help alot.

    Just an update on this. I never actually got rid of the palette corruption and gave up. Tried both of your plugins no luck.

    Oh well I figure its because I bought a substandard OEM dvd burner without any drivers. >_<

    I ended up watching it on my Mac, it worked fine.

    the drive shouldn't really be a factor in this. If the data is being properly read, then it should be fine.

    There might be some issues with VLC due to some settings. I had to play around with them on my parents computer to get it to work with a DVD while on my computer it worked right away.
