Most Touching Moments in Movies *spoiler warnings*

Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way

From Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Makes me feel like a big softy, and I usually let my victims watch it until the end even if it means I have to hear them scream a bit longer.

Post yours.

I second that.. Been too long since I last saw it.

One of mine, both from B5. I can't easily find a clip of it, but In The Beginning, when Londo's narrative covers the final days of the fight leading up to the Battle of the Line talking about the humans tenacity.

My second isn't a movie per say, but the 5th season of B5, G'kar's description of God: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylAsZQyOBMk&feature=related

    I also LOVE this scene.

Edit: In B5, its probably the White Star 14 playback.

Funny how different all these scenes are... while I fail to be touched by most of them so far, it's interesting to see how different we perceive these things in general.

There were indeed quite a few touching scenes in B5 but I'm hard pressed to come up with a particular one. Most of them involved G'Kar, Londo, Sheridan, Ivanova and Markus.

I suppose the most recent scenes that touched me were from the movie adaptation of Into The Wild. One of last year's best movies IMHO.

  • Found this video by accident today, I suppose it is worth mentioning here... As we all know the story.

Dont let the name fool you, every minute is worth watching and remembering.

  • I think the film that touched me the most in my early years was Silent Running, great film and with a message that is even more relevant today than when it was made - brought a tear to my eye.
  • for me it's the end of lost in translation and other parts of that movie

I'll have to check Lost in Translation again, somehow I didn't get to finish watching it. The movie didn't really work for me, there were a few funny moments between those, where I was bored to tears.

I actually only like two, no, make that three, Bill Murray movies, that's Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters and Larger than Life. He's somewhat of an antihero, he's a bit too subdued for my taste. Sometimes he's so low key, he almost disappears in the scene he's acting in. :D
  • MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
    Lost in translation is great.

And Bill Murray be somewhat of a hero of mine. He be just getting betterrr and betterrr.
But Lost in translation be somewhat of a high point.

The Life Aquatic is such a brilliantly made and terribly underrated film. Plus it has an awesome soundtrack consisting of David Bowie songs translated into Portuguese.

Steve, narrating: "Two albino scouts swim with the ship. They're supposedly very intelligent...although I've never seen any evidence of it."

Vladimir Wolodarsky: Steve, one of the interns just fell down the stairs with the main tracking processor.
Steve: All right, just make sure we steal the backup.

    Not a movie, but still:

    The interns rock.

Steve: "Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?"
Anne-Marie Sakowitz: "No, they all share one."

A lot of sequences from Braveheart...

Ok, so I watched The Life Aquatic and it's such a weird movie. A three-legged dog named Cody, Willem Dafoe not playing a lunatic, Jeff Goldblum looking smug and really old, Owen Wilson playing himself (as usual)... Cate Blanchett not playing Queen Elisabeth I. Wow!

That was quite a lot to handle, and then those SFX!! I kept looking for the strings that the objects and actors surely must have been attached to, just like puppets.

I'd put it right next to Zoolander, it's ok for those who like that kind of stuff. I'd rather watch something else. Bill Murray can do better than that.
  • MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
    Zoolander. Awsome movie.

Just finished watching The Iron Giant again and thought I should add this to the list.

The Iron Giant is way too awesome. I should get it someday.
