Honeymoon Decision

So I'm getting married in May, and we need to decide on a honeymoon location. We have it narrowed down to two: Jamaica and Italy.
Basically, our trip to Jamaica would be at a resort such as this. A lot of relaxing. Italy, on the other hand, would be more of a sightseeing tour such as this. Our dilemma: we might get bored just lying around on the beach in Jamaica, but we're also concerned about being not being able to relax in Italy. Moreover, Italy would be about twice as much... on the other hand, I would love to see the ancient ruins (there might also be stops in Greece as well in another package).
Any thoughts?

I've not been to Jamaica but Italy is great, you will get to see lots of ancient ruins, middle age churches and things like that. Make sure you go to the top of Mount Etna in Sicily too, I did that, got to walk into the crater :)

Some friends of mine went to Puerto Rico for their honeymoon and had an amazing time. You'd need to enjoy roughing it a bit tho
That being said, Jamaica is also technically right around the corner. Italy is on the other side of the globe. How often are you going to get an opportunity to run about the old country? Go to Italy now, and when you go to the Caribbean don't bother with the all inclusive stuff, and go to Puerto Rico instead.
The thing with all inclusives is that they are great because they have a lot of stuff taken care of like meals and drinks and a limited amount of entertainment.
But there are also off-resort excursions you could look into as well.
I went to Dominican Republic and stayed at an all inclusive and it was good, I didn't have to worry about anything. We went on a jeep tour off the resort and parasailing, we did some activity every other day so we weren't tired all the time. The staff there always had something going on but if you weren't interested, they left you alone. There are certain areas on the resort that had lots of people and stuff going on but if you didn't want to be involved, you just went down the beach and relaxed.

And RC, I would like to see your castles of Europe if you have time.

It's taking me for ever to get through. So far I have a lot of major castles in all countries, the Rhine river valley, all of Italy, all of Greece, coastal Spain, and a lot of the Mediterranean islands. I started the detailed scan in coastal Spain, jumped to north Africa, then moved across the Mediterranean islands and looped back through Greece to Italy. Taken me about 3 weeks to get this far.
Still have to do central Spain, all of France, Germany, Poland, England, Ireland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, all the Balkins, all the former Yugoslavia countries, Romania, Bulgaria, eastern Russia, Turkey, middle east near the Mediterranean, and Scandinavia. I'm focusing on stone castle structures from late roman through the early artillery based forts that are in the early period of the post-medieval period.
Space Ghost: What time frame are you looking at? I'm going through final sorting on Italy's castles right now and should have that country done later this week.

or just stone such as this:

?
Eastern Russia is more commonly known as Siberia... and there can't be too many castles there, perhaps some 16th century forts made by Russian army. But anyway, Siberia ain't an official part of Europe. Perhaps you meant Western Russia?
Messiah: I'm generally going for only stone constructs and ignoring the older style hill forts and wooden structures, mostly because they are (a) hard to identify and (b) mostly have not survived intact due to the decay of wood.
For those of you looking for the castles:

This is FAR from complete, and is considered a Beta, though I think Italy is pretty much done. See the Readme in the zip. The KMZ is also in the zip.

Ill look it up in 4 months when I get back to Sweden.
