moving...

So...looks like I'm moving to Chattanooga, TN.

*Sigh* Sure am going to miss all my friends here in St. Aug. A number of them have become like family to me.

Chattanooga is a really cool place. I dated a girl down there a long time ago. There is really not much severe weather unless you go up to like signal mountain or something. On the way up to Signal, there is a house built like a UFO, and the aquariam is pretty neat. But when your on Signal, be careful, the cops are very strict about everything. I got pulled over because they didn't recognise my car as a usual car that drives though. There also is a dragon museum that has everything with dragons in it. And lots of pet shops around the area (First time I got to hold a snake that was thicker than my leg....). Atlanta is only a hop-skip-jump away, and the city isn't that crowded. It's also a very religous area too, many churches and only a couple resturants are open on Sunday's.

Yes, Chatt is a georgious area. And funny that you mention Signal Mountain, as I plan on living on the base of it. :) Rents there are hella cheap (515 for a 1BR apartment, 615 for a 2 BR 1 BA apartment)
  • Entil'ZhaEntil'Zha I see famous people
it does not have a train, it has a Choo Choo (not named Charlie)

A#, have you ever read the novel American Gods by Neil Gaiman? Signal Mountain plays a major roll in the book. You might find it interesting. :D

The most important thing about Tenn A# is its a VERY gun friendly state, so move there, buy all the guns you want, including machine guns! short barreled rifles! hell even destructive devices! JOIN THE REDNECK SIDE!

Me too... so much so, that I have two college degrees related to it. ;)

TWO? Awesome! What the heck do you do anyway? Me, I'm just a Civil War buff since 8th grade history class. We did our Civil War unit not long after the 4½ hour epic Gettysburg came out on video. I fell in love with it and watched it every single weekend for like 3 or 4 months. I was 13 at the time, mind you. That next summer my dad asked me where I would like to go on a special trip, I could choose anything in a 15 hour driving radius and I chose Gettysburg. :D

Japan may have asian chixxorz and of course who doesn't love Japanese school girls, but there are no guns

Sides living in Tennasee you can join a civil war reenactment group and cough up 10 grand for a functioning reproduction 3 inch ordnance rifle! :D like this company provides! :P

Haha. Since I live in Pennsylvania, I've been to Gettysburg many times. One of my other favorites is Antietam and I highly recommend it to a Civil War buff. I'm trying to talk my fiancée into stopping at Petersburg on our way to the beach this summer but I'm not sure she'll go for it. She was a good sport about Gettysburg, so we'll see. ;)

As for what I "do", I'm still working on my teaching certification, so it's another year in school for me (well, 2 semesters of classes and 1 of student teaching). Anyway, I have a bachelor's and a master's degree in history and by far, my favorite field of study is the Civil War. To date, I've taken 4 courses covering it in some way and I have loved every one of them. I only wish I had time to take more. :D

If you're interested, I can recommend a few books.

I probably have them ;) but go right ahead.

A really neat thing about my family, my dad's partner had two great-grandfathers in the Civil War, both were in Pennsylvania units, both units have memorials at Gettysburg and he himself has a ton of their stuff - discharge papers, buttons from their uniforms, etc. He's leaving me all of his Civil War stuff in his will. :D

My how ever many grands back father came from England to fight in the Civil War. We got his war records. The only thing I remember is that he got syphilis.

To add, He fought for the North.

Sweet! I have nothing from my relatives who fought in the Civil War... and I know I wouldn't want what Chaosed's ancestors had to "pass down". :D

I won't bore you with a list of books. ;)
