Honeymoon

So, I'm getting married next year and the Little Lady and I want to take a cruise to the Mediterranean for our honeymoon. We want to see Italy and Greece and are looking for a 10 to 12 day trip in June or July of 2009. I've looked at a few of the travel websites as well as the cruise lines own sites. I'm going to stop in AAA on Thursday or Friday and we plan on hitting a few of the local travel agencies as well.

Any suggestions? i.e. What cruise line? What to see? What to avoid? etc.

Rome is totally seeworthy. But youd need at least a week for it. Northern Tuscany is fantastic, even better than Rome. Especially Firenze.

Otherwise. Not been around so much in those parts..

We did Rome is 3 days, and it is totally not enough time. I was exhausted at the end. If you are doing a quick tour you will probably want to plan ahead on the various things you want to see.
  • It took us three days just to do Windsor Ontario Canada. I can't imagine being able to see much of Rome in three days.

Well, most of the cruises we want only put us in Rome (and every other city for that matter) for 12 hours, so I know I'm not going to get to see nearly everything I want to see. Now I have to make choices. So it's going to be either the Colosseum or the Vatican. Any cruise to Italy must go to Naples as far as I am concerned because I desperately want to see Pompeii, so the finance might have her fill of Ancient Rome. Furthermore, if we go to Greece as well, she might get bored with all of the ruins.

Your suggestions are appreciated. Thanks! :)

If you want to see anything in Rome, I would recommend Pantheon. But the colosseum is cool. The vatican is too crowded..
