I wonder how they make sure the right gender gets into the correct body. Could make for some very awkward changes.
awkward but FUN!
If you want to read up on the descriptions of some of the future SGU episodes, click here. The odd thing is, there are already ratings on unaired episodes.
I'm not sure this show is going anywhere fast, even in FTL travel.
I'm also not sure if it can get more awkward than screwing someone elses wife (yes it can, but let's not go there, ok?). Communication device, yeah, right. :D
It doesn't look like there is a true overarching plot at this time.
What's there to say? Hello, by the way, my name is David Telford, wanna go for a dinner and a movie? :D
I'd say the show has with episode 7 reached its cruising altitude and all we are seeing now are variations of a recurring theme. This is the set, that's the characters, that's today's topic, go play now.
I do look forward to Commander Kiva's appearance, who's played by Rhona Mitra.
Episode 8 is a two-part story with a special twist. You don't know for sure who's going to be left alive next episode. That's more of a believable approach this time around even though the time travelling thing makes no sense at all. :D
Still, we a get a mini Aliens appetizer served with some gun fire on the side. Not bad at all.
Actually, you do. You don't see the final iteration of the loop, the one we're stuck with, because we can kind of figure it out from there. They find out everything they need immediately, promptly solve the problem before any complications arise, fin. To see what finally happened, see this week's Kinosode.
Episode 9 is really pushing this body swapping communication gadget. If this were a real device, I doubt its use would be acceptable by the general population. I suppose it works here as a plot device, but the abuse that could be done with it would be unconscionable. Talk about loss of privacy.
Anyway, this episode is mainly exposition, I suppose we needed to learn more about the main cast. Even though I don't see how sexual orientation factors into that. I mean, does anyone still care about that? :D
Still, it's a good watch and a nice change from the usual scifi stuff... well, at least until the fist fight started. :D
Episode 10 is a [sp]murder mystery surrounding the death of the unruly Sgt. Spencer with the obligatory legal poker played at an improvised trial.[/sp]
It always amuses me that no matter the place, the situation, the writers conjure up this noble human willingness to go through the trouble of recreating a court room setting. It's not that it couldn't happen, but real life is usually much simpler than that and people most likely wouldn't try to draw on their freshman level college legal courses to determine who's guilty and who is not.
Lots of  and self-important pompous acting from the female "legal" camp. It felt almost like we are not on the ship any longer. I was expecting for Jamie Bamber (BSG) to walk in at any moment wearing his pinstriped suit to cross-examine those so-called "experts."
Fortunately, this episode wasn't really about the trial at all.
Who knew they'd actually make a spinoff from the SG-1 Episode 200, "Teengate" or whatever it was.
Too many problems, too many bad characters, not enough...goodness. The Good seems to be missing. And the com. device... damn that sucks. Hated it in the first place when they introduced it.
Rush is the only thing I like so far, yet they try to make him look like the bad guy. Greer's also improving a lot.
Not giving up on Stargate: Deucheverse just yet, lets face it, it's still Stargate :p
Hate to admit it too, but Greer has started growing on me. Ever since that timejump episode really.
And yea. Rush is one of the reasons I like the show, when they write him well.. Which isnt often. So far he's kind of been turned into an asshole. Like someone with a multiple personality disorder or something.
Still, knew what he had done pretty much from the start of the episode, but was kinda surprised what happened in the end.
No doubt he'll be showing up back soon enough, as he has the means for it.. in a way.
Just wonder what happened to those two people who got stuck in that one planet in the beginning.. I mean, in Tatoiine. That desert planet.
well they left the desert planet for another. We saw Eli with the gate in operating trying to contact them. I can't imagine them wanting to be marooned on whatever planet they went to, so I just figured they died.

I kinda hope they reappear later at some point, maybe after being assimilated by the Borg :p
Well, the woman was played by the same actress that played a reporter (the one that Baltar hooked up with in S1) in several episodes throughout BSG. I was hoping that meant she wasn't a one-off (or two-off, in this case) character.
What? Bah, American TV networks are terrible with their schedules. Just as I was getting into SGU.
Random ChaosActually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
Yes, the schedules are terrible. It's gotten to the point I regularly just set up my computer to record the shows I want to watch (record by show name) in case the networks decide to air a random new episode in the middle of reruns.
I haven't tried it myself but I know someone who has.
From what he's said, it's a rushed together game made with the assets (3d models, maps etc) from Stargate Worlds because they ran out of money. Supposedly the balancing is getting better with each update though.

I think Stargate Worlds is pretty much dead now, which is a shame
So its back. Not a bad episode and we got to see the BIG GUN in action! Interesting aliens who seem to me they only have ftl themselves (might be wrong though).
I did think though that the explosions looked a bit like those from BSG in the later seasons... i.e. not great.
I started watching it a couple of weeks ago. Theres only one (maybe two) characters I care about. The rest I just wish dead. Especially the incompetent colonel..
so far, not digging what they're doing with Chloe's character since they started back up. Maybe it's just bad writing, but honestly a couple times when she was walking the halls I wondered--earnestly--if she was a Cylon. She was just so stiff, so wooden, in the second post-break episode.

Pretty cool indeed. :)

Rush deserved his predicament. He's a real SOB. :D

I suppose time will tell.

Then I remembered, that's the wrong show.
