That was excellent stuff all round. They have really really pulled their finger out after season 3 side step. The scene with Adama and Roslin was so well done, and yes the scenes with Emily were done beautifully. Was nice to see Major Kira in another sci fi role :)
The mutiny was wrapped up too quick but then it isn't finished with. Adama will want to know why Geata was shot. But he will probably be more concerned about a half beat up baseship jumping into the middle of the fleet.
I do think Baltar is still connected to the final 5. It might be too obvious to make him the final 5th but I think his preaching is going to unite the 5. Tory believes what he says, Chief has accepted him, leaving just Anders and Tigh. Right now the only thing uniting them is their identity. And I believe in order to help show the way to earth they have to come together to do so.
When Deanna finally saw the final 5 in the opera house did she see all their faces or just one? I remember her being surprised at finding out who she saw. Which made me wonder if the one she was looking at was Baltar.
Anyhoo thats my hybrid-esque ramblings on the episode. Speaking of the hybrid I wonder if anyone has collated what they have all said? Like Sanfam I find their mutterings fascinating. It would be interesting to see what all of them have said to see if RDM has hidden something in there...
2. Holy shit, that was some powerful stuff with Emily there. I would be very surprised if this episode doesn't win something, like best episode or best actress for Mary, or something.
3. OMG poor Gaeta. I really hope he doesn't die or lose his leg. Why is it always the adorable ones....
4. Absolutely awesome with all the special effects in this one. The "Ship of Lights" is gorgeous. Tricia Helfer kissing herself is too cool.
5. I'm really curious now though, if the sight that Kara was remembering and was trying to find was this sight with the ship and the gas giant right there, then it begs the question, did she ever really see Earth?
6. The Hybrids ramblings. Some REALLY interesting stuff in there. I agree with Sanfam that it might not be what we, or Natalie, think it is. The idea of a "thirteenth cylon" is intriguing and plausible and I also agree that the dying leader might be referring to Baltar. Maybe it has been referring to him the entire time.
7. Whether or not the ramblings were referring to the Three model, D'Anna, or not, we know Lucy is coming back so we'll find out one way or another.
8. OMG Adama and Roslin, are they ever going to kiss damnit!?
I'm not sure what else I have to say right now. Awesome though. :D
Spoiler: Baltar cannot be the final Cylon, as he is in the "last supper" photo, and nobody in that photo, who has not already been revealed to be a cylon, is a cylon (per RDM) i still think it's Billy, or Cally.
Spoiler: RDM said none of the people in the picture was the final Cylon, the 5th. If Sanfam is right and there's some mysterious "thirteenth" being, Cylon, half-Cylon, Cylon God, whatever, then he could be it.
Spoiler: Callie cannot be a Cylon. One of the reasons the Cylons were interested in breeding with humans is because they couldn't with each other. I still stand by parts of the theory I posted on the second page (4th post down) of this thread.
um the 4th post down on the second page of this thread isn't yours.....
It is if you use custom post-per-page count :P
Spoiler: The three will lead you to the five. I wonder if that means D'Anna already knows the identity of the final cylon. Once she's ressurected it should bring an interesting twist given she'll know who some of the secret cylons are.
One little thing bugged me about the episode though. It seems unlikely Cavill would have stopped attacking and not realize Natalies basestar was left in mostly one partially functional piece. I was also hoping Anders would've put his hands on the basestars "steering wheel" and see what happened.
Anybody see another pattern here? First Kara delivers a raider, then a heavy raider, now she's bringing back a basestar. It's only a matter of time before she comes back with the ressurection ship :D

Well, Spoiler: a few episodes back, Cavil told Natalie they'd revive D'anna at a "Resurrection Hub," and she didn't react as if that was total nonsense, so we can presume that this Hub is a more fully-featured version of the Resurrection Ship. Considering the fact that the penultimate episode of the season is titled "The Hub," I have a feeling that Starbuck is going to bring back something a whole lot bigger than just the Resurrection Ship.
Spoiler: I just want to say that I dont feel sorry for Gaeta at all. He is the most egotistical character in the show, more so than Baltar, and the character deserves to lose a leg for that. ;)
That said; powerful episode indeed. As pointed out, harbinger of death and end might not be referring to the same thing. Kara is a harbinger of death, she is the top pilot in the "fleet" and has killed many cylons (including cylon ships). end might mean conclusion and not just be apocalyptic. Many apocalyptic messages als imply a conclusion and also a way forward (e.g. Kingdom of heaven in Abrahamistic religions. Idavill, Lif and Lithrasil in Asatrú).

Spoiler: I'm also going to emphasize that she has yet to bring things back intact. :p
Spoiler: I agree, very good. Not too much we can say as it's really about the "payoff" episode(s) after this one. The hub looked ultra cool and it will be interesting to see what the Hybrid tells Roslin and Baltar.
I can't find the quote, but someone told me that Ronald Moore said that "their will be blood" in this final season. And indeed their has. :D
I think there have been enough episodes so far to safely call it. The show is back to it's full glory and it's on fire! Looks like the next one will kick yet more ass.
Bear McCreary's blog talks about the song in tonight's episode in great detail, and also contains a couple of tiny tidbits about something that'll happen later in the second half of the season. Spoiler: Specifically, there's going to be an "unusually musical episode" which includes on-set performances. Also, judging by Bear's impromptu snapshot, the damaged Basestar is going to be around for a while.
Spoiler: I was expecting Gaeta to start singing All Along the Watchtower at the end. I don't know what else to say about the episode, it was so good, unpredictable and exciting. Can't wait for the next one.
I really liked the music when
Geata was singing. Hope it makes it to the s4 cd.
Yup another excellent episode. Interesting the Chief getting pulled into helping Athena. Now he'll have close contact with 2 human/cylon kids. Also interesting was the shared dream the others had again. I do wonder why Baltar doesn't seem to share the dreams with them and only appears to have had them himself with Caprica 6.
I'm a bit surprised that Anders is still running around freely, he should be in custody pending investigation, but I guess this is just another unimportant detail. :D
Also, amputations don't happen the way they are portrayed on TV and this show is not an exception. You don't just draw a line and rev up the circular saw. Silly writers and production units.

Yeah, I prefer to simply chew through the bone... but that's just me.

Love where they are going with this.
also:
Spoiler: Are they going to kill someone every single week? And whats up with Hera?

It's not a medical show, but it's still a bit irresponsible to some degree.
