Spoiler: I can't be the only one who has a problem with Tigh being a Cylon. He fought against the Cylons in the first war, so how could he be a Cylon?
Ah, ah, ah. Spoiler: He allegedly fought in the first war. We have no reliable, face-to-face history of him until he met Adama, some ten years after the war. My guess is that his war record was somehow fabricated (probably, like Boomer, all of his vital documents and old friends and family were in places that just happened to have been totally destroyed), and he did not actually show up in the colonies until he signed on to the freighter where Adama met him.
Hopefully, they'll eventually tell us exactly how Tigh and Anders, especially, could've coasted through life without anyone noticing they had no verifiable friends or family.
Spoiler: I don't think it would be that hard to explain. After all, in an interstellar civilization of billions of people, signing on to a freighter near the edge of known space or being in the military would make knowing someone else's friends and family a little hard. Moreover, how many people do you work with and have never met their family? I would imagine quite a few. Especially someone in the military who would be rarely home.
Spoiler: True enough, but you'd think someone as visible as the XO of a Battlestar would have someone try to look him up at some point. Military background checks, reporters doing stories on the museum, something. It's even more of a stretch with Anders, a famous sports player. Tory and Tyrol are relative unknowns, so they are easier to explain away.
Spoiler: I'm pretty sure it's been said that Anders and the others are different from the other seven cylons in a fundamental way.
For starters, they're immortal. For all we know, they've been "coasting through life" for hundreds of years, since the exodus from Kobol, or possibly before...
Take it with a grain of salt, it's just something I remember hearing.
Yeah, Moore's been saying that "fundamentally different" line since the finale aired. Spoiler: I'm a conventionalist, though. Until the show says otherwise, I believe all twelve cylon models were created by first war-era centurions, in an attempt to grow as people after their attempts to bolt on human parts in the form of the hybrids failed to pan out.
Just out of curiosity, where's the line for uncoded spoilers? End of Season 3?
Enough with the spoiler tags already. I saw it, and we are none the wiser, as could be expected. Just drama for the sake of drama, but not to move the plot along. I liked Razor a lot more than this season opener. I think they've already moved on to do the next spin-off, whatever it may be.
Spoiler: As far as i can tell, it Can't be Roslyn, I believe that i saw in an interview with Ron Moore that None of the people in the "Last Supper" Photo, who have not already been revealed as Cylons, Are Cylons, which would rule out Roslyn, however i can't find the article anymore.

Do we know when Tigh met his wife? Even before Adama or after?
Do we know when Tigh met his wife? Even before Adama or after?
In a deleted scene in "Kobol's Last Gleaming," Ellen complained that he had forgotten their seventh wedding anniversary was that day, and in one of the "Scattered" flashbacks, Tigh told Adama he thought getting a wife would help his career, in an example of good ol' fashioned situational irony. So, pretty well after after.
He probably did, but from what I've heard about Eddie, he's a huge prankster on set, just like Katee Sackhoff. Both of them have been known to prank and outright lie to fans just for fun.
So yeah season 4 opener...
The opening was great. They really had me for a good few seconds when Saul shot the old man. I actually said out loud 'NO WAAAAY!!' before realising he was imagining it. Excellent piece of filming so it was. I do agree Baltars scenes were a tad boring. Started off amusing enough but that was it. When he was running around the corridor with the red blanket round him I just kept thinking 'little red riding hood' :D
So this Starbuck is obviously a plant and the way she's reacting to the jumps does point to the Hybrids comments from Razor. She will lead humanity to its doom. What I really don't get is the Cylon strategy at the nebula. They could have nailed every civilian ship but didn't. Most strange. Makes one wonder about the choices the fleet has in front of them. Follow the path indicated by the 13th colony (seemingly away from the nebula) or follow a 'reborn' Starbuck into god knows what.
I still find it a shame the effects have been taken in house. No disrespect to the cgi team but its just not the same. While watching the battle it just looked so different to what we were treated to in season 2 & 3.
I will, along with the old Zoic guys I'm sure, take that as a compliment. I must say, however, that it is nice to be free of the constant stress that is the BSG production. I know what the in-house folks must be going through to get the shots done.
Love this one:

I'll second Falcon1's remark. The incredible attention to detail in Zoic's work in the show made the switch a painful one. We were spoiled.

Spoiler: I disagree. I don't think she is a Cylon plant, nor is she a sign of doom. "Apocalypse" is a term too many people misinterpret. Also, the first hybrid actually mentioned the Final Five as bringers of the Apocalypse, too. I also feel their strategy is clear. The Cylons proper now know there are other Cylons, the Final Five, living within the fleet. The subconscious search for these mysterious remaining models was probably incorporated into their base programming. When they found the rest, the reaction was probably "Oh shit, the final five!" This was followed by a "Retreat and think about it" session. The symbolism in the show has made it clear that Starbuck knows the way forward and is linked to the Lords of Kobol rather than the Cylons. Or at least that's how I see it.
I did nothing to change them, so...thank either Biggles or random quirks. But I'd still strongly suggest not subscribing to a topic dealing with a new season of a show you're interested in if you wish to remain unspoiled. Read these threads at your own risk.
Spoiler: From the mention in the commercial for this weeks episode of lobotomizing raiders, my guess is that the Centurions, Raiders, and maybe even baseships still have some programming left over from when the Cylons were one big happy twelve-model family, and they decided to stop the attack purely on their own initiative once that Raider found out what Anders was. I'd imagine the Significant Seven were pretty pissed when final victory was in their grasp and suddenly all their ships just gave up and ran away.
Spoiler: Thats a good point. As soon as the raider made the connection with Anders they stopped. The order to retreat is very unlikely to have come from any of the seven since they don't even know about him so it seems very likely the raiders and basetars retreated on their own. The lobotomies are probably Cavill trying to figure out why the frack they did that.
Oh, okay Sanfram...well then, I retract my thanks and apply it where ever it is due. I am well aware of the risks of reading threads such as these.
So hey, does iTunes carry BSG? If so, is it HD? Charter cable does not carry Sci Fi HD, and switching to DirecTV would send our internet rates up, and may cause us to miss our weekly dose of The Tudors!
Spoiler: Perhaps the Final Five are something of a "Messiah" to the raiders and centurions (who apparently have biological components) and they feel that they will deliver them from the Seven's oppression. Just a thought :)

Spoiler: I notice that when describing Earth, Starbuck says it's in a trinary system. We know that's not true, so what's up with that?
Enough with the spoiler tags already.
I have to agree. The only thing that I feel needs a spoiler tag is if you are reveling something from a future episode.
That said, spoiler tags should be used for discussion about whatever the most recent episode is.

of course, i prolly wouldnt be reading the thread, but still..

Hee hee. "It's devastating... don't watch this program; it's not an easy ride." Though I'd like to know if Edward James Olmos really did say that.
