After spending a good deal of time at the places at each end of this bridging link, I thought it would be cool to see if I can't help both places by building this link between the two.

The infectiously cheerful, irreverent good humour, the wit and general nuttiness seems to be prevalent at both locations.

The massive vaults stuffed to the gills with in-jokes and community building sentimental property are also a common theme.

The total and utter disregard for any semblance of sticking to a topic within a thread is also shared.

For those of you at Firstones - ENTP.org is the place where those that prescribe to being ENTP from the Myers Briggs profile and those wonderful souls whom appreciate us. There's a strong bent towards head shrinkery of course, knowing your type, bagging out all the others etc. I've not seen a single thread here where I haven't at least chuckled once, if not totally got out the roflsticks and beat myself unconscious with them. Even the odd flame or spite session is tidy, well contained and lordy... given the ENTP bent for creativity, always vividly executed. Indeed, thats one thing ENTPs do well, extremely original thinking. That an exasperating audacity.

For those of you at ENTP.org - Firstones.com started life as a supporting site for a still born Spacesim Game based on the Babylon 5 universe. Since then, it's become a repository for anything and everything vaguely related to B5 and also... just about anything else. The Zocalo feels like the ENTP boards, just with vastly different scenery out the windows... oh... then again... who the hell knows what ENTP.org boards actually look like in ones minds eye... maybe I've stumbled on a wormhole and they are one and the same !

Heh, cool, looks like a nice forum...its been so long since I've done a Myers Biggs test, I can't even remeber where I fall and I am fairly certain taking an online quiz to determine which Autobot I am doesn't count.

Unfortunately, I am apparently ENFP, although only slightly F. :p (according to an online test)

Ill check it out, but I cant promise anything.

everyone is welcome at both ends, even if they are a bit lazy

ENFPs are very cool. I often flip-flop into one... MBTIs are not a fixed descriptor, everyones fluid to a degree

    Holy huge avatar, Batman!

Though it is on the right side, so I suppose it doesn't really interfere other than in an aesthetic way.

I'm afraid this isn't going to work out. ;)

I know some ENTPs at work and to put it mildly, they are insufferable. They have absolutely no concept of time, deadlines, schedules or punctuality. Five minutes turn into hours. They have no idea how long any work will take, because they don't work in a way which allows to set a time table they can keep. When you have to depend on them, you will know pain, you will know anger, you will know suffering. You will turn to the Dark Side. You will kiss Palpatine's feet.

I believe being an ENTP is an irreconcilable difference specifically cited in divorce papers.

They are easily enough to spot, those people who work long hours when other with similar tasks don't, those who arrive at work in the morning after you and leave in the evening after you. Those who do lunch breaks an hour or two after most other people. Those who have PDA's with all the appointments they can't keep.

Of course most of them are nice people to be around, and that's the dilemma, but when you need to get stuff done like, right now, you may be in for some big trouble. They are often very smart too and thus complementary to the rest of us. But they do get on your nerves. :D

[QUOTE]ENTPs value their ability to use imagination and innovation to deal with problems. Trusting in their ingenuity to get them out of trouble, they often neglect to prepare sufficiently for any given situation. This characteristic, combined with their tendency to underestimate the time needed to complete a project, may cause the ENTP to become over-extended, and to work frequently beyond expected time limits. Complicating this situation is their predisposition to experiment with new solutions. This makes them eager to move on to the next challenge when things get boring. ENTPs become stressed when their improvisational abilities are ineffective and they will avoid circumstances where they might fail.

If stress continues, ENTPs become distracted and their "can do" attitude is threatened. Feelings of incompetence, ineptness, and inadequacy take over. They need to escape situations that are associated with anxiety is more prominent for the ENTP than for any other personality type. Doubtful of whether they will have what it takes to accomplish a task, they displace their fears onto situations they can elude. Panic, fear, and anxiety then block the expression of their creativity. Defensive phobic reactions cause the ENTP to circumvent achievement in other areas and prevent the success they strive on.

This lists represent careers and jobs people of your type tend to enjoy doing. The job requirements are similar to the personality tendencies of your personality type. It is important to remember that this is not a list of all the jobs possible. And it is very important to remember that people can, and frequently do, fill jobs that are dissimilar to their personality... this happens all the time...and sometimes works out quite well.

    Ahem...

Stingray, that's so one sided it's not even heard of two dimensions.

You're also tarring all ENTP's with the same brush. There are degrees of ENTP, just like any other loose description of something which is hard to define in the first place.

I also take umbrage at the idea that we 'work longer' because we can't complete a task quickly... if anything, the reverse is true, ENTP's have a knack for gutting a task, find the three crucial steps that need to be taken, do those and bugger the rest... leave that to the plodders who can't critically analyse a problem and work out what part of a job is pointless busywork.

Spoiler: Pssst... I'm trying to lure them by starting a conversation to prove me wrong. I agree with you, that's why I said we are complementary to each other. Heeere ENTeePeeTeePee, heeere ENTeePeeTeePee!!:D
