Cloverfield (Spoilers Probable)
Sanfam
I like clocks.
in Zocalo v2.0
Got back from it a while ago, thoroughly enjoyed it. Though I do feel sorry for those in front of me. I was getting a bit motion sick staring at it from the last row in a fairly large theater. I normally hate shakeycam and everything it is attached to, but I loved this. A perfect combination of character-focus and monster smashy fun time.
For those who stayed through the credits, it turns out there's a bit of a surprise that hints at something more.

I never want to see it again. One review called it "emotionally sadistic," and I think that's probably the best way to put it. Also, I wonder if it'll lose it's punch on the small screen.
As far as the small screen goes, I think it'll make the transition well. Shakeycam on the big screen often translates better to a smaller TV.
Just not our cup of tea, and as much as I respect an artist's privilege to create their own art, honestly I expected better of Abrams based upon his previous work. We really didn't see anything innovative or progressive in the execution of the film, and what entertainment there was in the film was canceled out by poor writing/ plot execution.
That's my opinion.
Not only was the plot interesting, but the characters were suitably fleshed out (even better than AVP2).
I for one love open ended movies. I love being able to think about what might have happened, and the times he turned off the camera were great, you had to think to see what had happened.
I also loved the satellite falling down in the end (beginning). I would have loved it more if it was an egg, but they actually gave every event in the movie a meaning, which was great.
P.S. the zerglings rocked! D.S.
Worf
It was better than I expected. Ofcourse, when you're expeting the worse you can only be surprised good ways.
I saw this not long after it came out and I actually really enjoyed it. Of course, I also really liked Blair Witch when I saw that. Unlike other people, I'm not in the least bothered by shaky cam, except when I'm trying to look at something and suddenly the camera moves away from it, it's like, "hey move it back!" I've never gotten motion-sick in my life.
I thought it was very well executed and clever.

Saw it again today, and it was even better than last time. One of my all time fav. sci-fi movies.
