C_MonC_Mon A Genuine Sucker
I find it funny that it's quite much what I expected. Also, the bars I've been to is funny that I can tell what everyone is expecting that evening. About 3 or more boys talking to a girl is all about they all want to dance or something more with her. If it's only one boy and girl talking they are most often a couple. Then there are girls dancing with eachother that want nothing else and if some boy comes there they stop dancing. It woudn't be so obviouse, except when I'm drunk I ask straight forward questions and mostly I'm right.

I don't know what this thread is about, but it will be something fun to wake up to :D

  • Not yet, but perhaps tomorrow... at the moment my beer arsenal includes several delicious (and rather expensive) items such as Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon 1. edition, Nøgne Ø #100, Haand Bryggeriet Dark Force, Nørrebro North Bridge Extreme, Nils Oscar India Ale, Koff Porter, Gouden Carolus Christmas, Corsendonk Pater Dubbel, La Penneffoise, Kerst Bok, Schneider Aventinus, Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier, Pilsner Urquell and Old Engine Oil... there's also a couple bottles of wine, Quinta da Espiga 2003 (red, Portugal), Hardys Bin 343 Vintage 2005 (red, Australia) and Gold Line Tokaji Hárslevelü 2006 (white, Hungary). In addition, I've gathered enough fruity ingredients for a bowl of punch just to ensure I have many ways to get drunk tonight. :D

Hehe, the college bar scene is always that lopsided, women really do hold all the power in that setting.

If your going to college to find a woman, you need to find one with a better ratio. My wife went to a traditionally womens college. It had about 1000 students, 6 or so were male. Now a couple of the male students weren't interested in girls, but the three or four that were had there pick of the litter....

  • Ah, yes, since alcohol is so necessary to make friends and have fun. Clearly that's what I've been missing, I need to go out and get plastered in order to enjoy my life.

What did you think alcohol was invented for? :D

Speaking of its the our christmas night out tomorrow night with the 2nd year physio's and OT's, cant wait, its gonna be good! Downside is my ex will be there and she's right in the middle of the "lets be friends stage, but I'm now going to moan about my lack of a love life to you to remind you we're not going out anymore stage"

    Gah women!

ahhh ex girlfriends, always trouble! Hope you have better luck tonight SD. I am inclined to believe that bars are just not a place to meet women sorry but my experience especially in NY, is that your going to get dissed. I just don't go looking for women in bars, maybe for a good time sure, but women ugh uh.

edit: oh and ecletionaut thats ALOT of alcohol.

Thanks Johnny. I'm gonna have a word with her when we're out and just say to her that as much as I want to be friends with her I just want her to stay away from me for a while. Its just a pain in the ass that we're going to be living in the same place on placement after xmas for 10weeks, so I have to be nice to her, and I'd feel bad if we werent talking as she doesnt know anyone else in the town we're going to. Complications :(

Sadly you're right, bars arent the place to go, clubs are. But there is nothing I hate more than clubbing (tho Aberdeen does have 2 semi-decent ones that I dont mind too much). Of course if you want to have a conversation, pubs are the best place, but you need to know the woman in question a bit before going to one really....which brings us back to clubs. Uhhhh!

Yes it is. That's why I only consumed two beers and several glasses of that fine punch tonight (equaling about 8 alcoholic units)... I'm a responsible drinker after all.

Those beers are going to last at least half a year if not longer (not including the Dark Horizon which can be aged for several years, maybe even a decade or two).

I so want to try one called Old Engine Oil!

    Jake
  • You can probably find it from Cicero's and/or Starr's Market: http://www.ratebeer.com/Places/State/Cities/St.+Louis/25.htm

But I must warn you, Old Engine Oil is an acquired taste so I wouldn't recommend it for beginners in any circumstances - I myself didn't like it a couple of years ago when I first tried it. If you're unfamiliar with other beer styles than basic American (light) lager, you should start with something easier like American dark lager, dunkel or dunkler bock.

Hey, thanks for the link, I will check those places out.

I am ok with peculiar tasting beers...the darker the better. I love stouts of any kind!
