I know this was kind of to be expected, but the pessimist in me knows that this is the end. I have a feeling the last episode will never be filmed. Not with the ratings they had.

With the ratings they had, the thirteen episodes they have in the can shouldn't have been filmed.

Besides, what is Universal going to do? The strike ends, and they've got all the infrastructure set up to finish off their critical darling, and they'll throw it away? No, BSG isn't in danger. It's the new shows, or the relatively unknown shows, that are going to get it in the shorts. Eureka, I'm looking at you. With pity.

Anything can happen at this point. I guess everything depends on how much longer the strike goes on. I'm really hopeful it will finish but as the strike drags on I think there is a chance actors will eventually have to start bailing. Critical acclaim alone is no guarrantee of anything. All these dumbasses care about are ratings, and as far as ratings go, Eureka has steadily held higher than BSG by very comfortable margin most of the time. I would doubt they would be the first to go.

There's some hope in that with the strike going on, the actors are going to have a hard time finding jobs elsewhere. That doesn't mean I agree with the actions of the network.

Worf
• Meh...that article is simply 'creating' news in my opinion...the only comment I saw in there from anyone was 'it's always possible.'

But hey, I'm not in the business, what do I know. not worth getting panties in a bind over though.
• I agree with RedAssAG05
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
I am quite sure they will make sure there are enough episodes for syndication

On the upside, we may not have to worry about a shitty conclusion. :P

All this strike is going to do, is raise the number of actors doing commercials and movies abroad.

I'm pretty much fed up with all the breaks that weekly and daily shows have nowadays. I can't even get my daily dose of humor anymore. Now I have to watch the so-called real news and that's quite sad.

But I hope there will be a settlement soon, they can't strike forever, even the suits need to eat. :D

The suits need a short sharp kick to the head imo.

I believe that's what they are getting with the strike, they are getting hit where it hurts.
• Falcon1Falcon1 Elite Ranger
Indeed. But it seems the short sharp kick isn't having the right effect just yet. Maybe a sucker punch is required as well to make em cut the crap and get on with it.
• David of MacDavid of Mac Elite Ranger Ca
Well see if they've gotten it next week, when negotiations resume.

Ideally, they'll be able to see what's what. Or at least understand how galling it is when they sweep clips of their shows off of YouTube because its piracy (read: lost sales) and then turn around and claim that doing the same thing on their own site is "advertising."

Well at least it looks like Katee will be free and not be tied up with Bionic Woman when BSG filming resumes. :D Just read she apparently left BW for good, and the rest of the season will likely get canned.

The talented Ms. Sackhoff was pretty much the only reason I put up with that show when I first started watching it. No matter how bad the scene was starting to become, she turned it from a steaming pile of shit to a solid gold piece of crap. Still crap, but a pile of shit to be proud of.

Though according to RDM, all of the BSG second-level staff have been laid off by the studio in addition to the indefinite standby w/o pay. This continued striking back at the little guy is just going to continue causing so much trouble.

How much longer can this last? If I was a bit part writer/actor I'd be worried about where the next cheque was coming from, especially with christmas coming.
• Vorlons in my HeadVorlons in my Head The Vorlons told me to.
Ok, now KS says she has not left BW, but it probably doesn't matter as it's still possible the show will not resume anyway.

Well, the writers may have a problem, but I can't say that I shed too many tears for the actors (at least the "stars" of most of the shows). I think they will have enough to get them through the Christmas shopping season... for the next 100 years. ;)

So lets see
on the upside of the strike, we've most certainly lost Bionic Woman, Cavemen, and Flash Gordon.

This is bad how? :p
• Vorlons in my HeadVorlons in my Head The Vorlons told me to.
We lost Flash Gordon? Please tell me that's not a joke. You made my day. :)
• Actually, I think Bionic Woman shows some promise. Will I mourn its loss? Not really. But it was interesting...and the lead is pretty hot.
• Bionic Woman got me between Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money.
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
I enjoy pushing daisies. I do hope that survives.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
Vorlons, I can only hope. It just doesn't seem logical that Bionic Woman would die and Flash would go on given its nearly 0.0 share. :p

And is it just me, or does "Tin Man" look like the writers took the idea for the Flash Gordon remake and replaced the characters with those from the Wizard of Oz?

One of the recent commercials greatly annoyed me. "Welcome to OZ, the Outer Zone." Har har! They assigned meaning to a silly name! That must mean they're good writers.

And the Scarecrow is named Glitch. Technolinkage stupidity!
• Vorlons in my HeadVorlons in my Head The Vorlons told me to.
At some point the remake bullshit needs to end. Just because it worked for one or two doesn't mean you need to dig up the entire catalogue of old shows and remake them one by one.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
Don't worry, Knight Rider is just around the bend!
• Vorlons in my HeadVorlons in my Head The Vorlons told me to.
I've also heard the A-Team is being considered.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
on the upside, that should could be awesome if they just make it a literal followup raw actionfest with one-tank-per-episode.
• I want a remake of Clutch Cargo.

I don't know, I think it sounds pretty cool. I mean, that was some deep insight to what OZ stands for. I think that it should turn out that the Cowardly Lion is actually the love child of a Munchkin and a creature from the Outer Dark, but the Munchkin isn't just a Munchkin, he's actually a twisted Nightmare escaped from The Dreaming that took the form of a Munchkin to haunt the dreams of the trees and had escaped to Munchkinland after raping his own mother and destroying the Porpentine.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
I demand a remake of Sooty!
