Spoiler: I'm hoping that we've seen the last of the Asurans. Replicators are an enemy that became boring when they stopped being lego bricks.

Have to agree kind of with Worf. I just loved them when they were first introduced in SG1.

Spoiler: I also agree. They are a terrible, tired plot device now. Once a masterfully handled threat to all life in the universe, once the human-form replicators came to reality, we were left with a consistent downward trend. The Asurans were a neat idea, but they way they have been used is just silly. Never any actual depth and the moment someone writes it in, the second part of an episodes pops on and removes whatever progress was made. Bullshit, I say.

And David of Mac, I still say there is no good reason for them to not keep an eye open at the former planet location. All it takes is one former replicator to return and the entire effort was wasted. Until we know more about Roboweir's plan, we can assume she's pretty much case-in-point.

Another thought: Why didn't they try to beam out as many ZPMs as possible during this attack? The city-planet was known to be laced with them. Given how much utility even a near-depleted ZPM can provide, I would suspect this to be of particular interest during a strike on the planet. It might even reduce their ability to fight back

Sanfam: that last point occurred to me too. It would seem to have been a prime opportunity afterall

As for human-form replicators, most of the time they were just so un-scary it wasnt funny. The only exception I can think of was the original 1st we met, he was alright. But as soon as they became humanised they just lost all the menace that the little bugs had, must be due to our primeval fear of bugs

Yup it was good alright. And the ending sure was a nice surprise ;)
• HuntSmackerHuntSmacker Firstones Ambassador to Starcraftia
Just a way of introducing her new outfit featuring leather.. :P

Spoiler: There, I knew it was a good idea. The wraith beat me to it. But damnit, the humans should have thought about it too. Giant city-planet full of ZPMs which the entire human race would benefit from the theft of and they just neglect to even consider that option. Humans, stop being so stupid.

Post-viewing followup:
Spoiler: I can't believe it. They did it again. All that trouble and they still didn't even scan for the ZPMs that are likely there after the destruction of the cloning facility. This is both frustrating and almost insulting to the audience, as no doubt it will be turned around and come back to haunt the crew later. Damned important, especially considering that the only known source of fresh ZPMs has been (to their knowlege) destroyed. This means supplies will dwindle as those who know how to use them will snatch up those that remain.

The only point I don't remember is if they had one, two, or three.

Otherwise, it was interesting. The sense of peril didn't quite seem to be there, but it was a great look back into the nearly forgotten wraith society. Made a bit more sense as to how they managed to overcome those pesky Ancients way back when.

This episode was shockingly free of abrupt twists, too. I was fairly pleased with the writers' apparent restraint. :p
• Spoiler: As I predicted a couple of months ago, it's starting to get more and more possible that Teyla's boy child isn't of Athosian origin but of Michael's design (through experiments on Teyla in S03E19). It'd be fun to see if his birth would have similarities to the classically corny "lizard twins" scene of the 80's scifi series V... :p
• HuntSmackerHuntSmacker Firstones Ambassador to Starcraftia
I enjoyed that one. It didn't have much in the way of tension or suspense, nor much in the way of humour or deep and meaningful dialogue - But it felt like Stargate again. ;)

And about last weeks episode
Colonel, Colonel. Colonels. etc.. Great :P
• Falcon1Falcon1 Elite Ranger
Yeah that was good again. Interesting though how the
major threads/threats have been kinda tied up so soon. The replicator threat is gone (bar Robo Weir coming back). The Wraith have lost their unlimited numbers so will no longer be the unstoppable force they have been for so long and will therefore have to be more cautious with their attacks. So what's left? I agree with Eclecticonaut that the baby is obviously going to be something other than just a cute thing in nappies. Michael's story line has been quiet so is due another look. Also I wonder when Forest is going to raise his head again. And coming back to Weir what do you think her plans are? I think she will try to rebuild the empire of the ancients, doing things right in her mind but with an obvious clash with the Atlantis team.
As long as we get to see more of Weir in the leather outfit I dont care! I know some of you disagree, but I think Torri Higginson is damn fine looking :D

Especially in leather :p
• Falcon1Falcon1 Elite Ranger
I thought the leader of those space carnies looked good in leathers (think she was in that ill fated Blade series). Quite feisty ;)

I wouldn't mind more females of the cast in some nice tight-fitting leather apparel, but until they start getting a little more, uh..."Openly personal" with one another and knock the rating up a few notches, I wouldn't be too happy with the show being changed. :p
