Sorry about that. Hopefully I didn't ruin anything for everybody. :p
Spoiler: I did like that McKay was at the head of it all. He seemed to be the most reasonable lead for the particular episode and I was fine with having a main character take the role. I did like how Zelenka was featured in some small way, but the fact that he was the one with the control crystal seemed to be entirely arbitrary and added as if to simply justify him being seen.
"Wow, I guess when I said I was almost done I really meant it." :D

Spoiler: You know, I think this would have been an ideal opportunity to have Zelenka featured, and McKay as his sidekick.

Spoiler: Exactly! That would have been a great twist RE, I can imagine how funny it would have been when they got their memories back :D
Spoiler: I was amused that McKay took up a leadership position when his memory was lost. He went from a well-practiced coward to a man willing to risk everything for (from his perspective) nothing. That alone was worth it.
RubberEagleWhat's a rubber eagle used for, anyway?
might I propose "speculation" (that's at least what it was used for in the Doctor Who thread) as the designation for the secondary spoilertag, if you implement it?
Oh, that is just so much bullshit.
Spoiler: The lead-in, the first thirty five broadcast minutes of this episode is just bullshit. The grand setup earlier with the telepath was completely undermined.
The visuals were superb. The escape scenario seemed a bit contrived, but it was pulled off well enough.
Though, I have to say, two McKays is infinitely amusing.
"Oh, this is great. Finally, someone I can have 100% confidence in!"
Occasional comic relief was worth it in the end, but the while thing seems hollow and pointless having just barely changed any of the circumstances. So now they can track the Ancient Warships. How exciting. It seems like they had a valid excuse to keep some extra characters around for a second episode, but oh well. The bonus character development time would have been very helpful given how little some have gotten this season.
Season 4 has been pretty good so far in my book, but This Mortal Coil was absolutely horrible. The entire story was half-borrowed from SG-1, and even then they couldn't make it live to its full potential.

Who saw All My Sins Remember'd? I thought that was a really good episode, much better :)
Spoiler: I thought the space battle scene was really cool, all it needed was a big massive space station heh! I thought the end was gonna be a really corny 'oh look, 1 ship left' gimmic, but having Weir on it was a real surprise! Overall: I like! :D
Spoiler: While I thought the episode was neat and pretty, it was so full of cliches and predictable twists that it just wasn't all too good an episode, but it was enjoyable. The Wraith's general frustration was starting to move into unintentional funnyness, and the commander of the Apollo is written as such an irrational hard-ass that it is outright unbelievable. This is the same man whose rash decisions nearly caused the destruction of Atlantis in the first place and yet he still has pull? Why did they have to introduce phasers? Asgard experimental weapons my ass, only the Replicators, direct descendants of the Ancients, were advanced enough to handle and power beam weapons (which are apparently far beyond even the Asgard technological expertise).
The conclusion sucked. Why wouldn't they at least scout the area for ships they weren't aware of? What if the replicators had something else other than an Aurora class floating around and couldn't be tracked by the goo-drive. Negligence has allowed the Replicators to survive in a form which may be better, but could be worse.
I did love the gorgeous destroyer of worlds, Fran. "Hello." And the effects were some the best yet.
Spoiler: This episode was very cool, but because it was so intense it could've easily been extended into two episodes. And I too would've liked to see more of Friendly Replicator ANdroid... :x

It's not like it was his idea. He was assigned a mission. Any other officer would've done the exact same thing in "First Strike." Not to say that Weir was wrong, just that he's not the person to blame everything on.

Blame "Unending" for establishing the Asgard weapons as beams (probably because energy pulses would've looked too much like the plain old railguns to illustrate there was a difference).

Spoiler: I'm sure Weir's ship arrived well after the fracas was over, and wouldn't have been there for anyone to find. It's fairly apparent that she wasn't on the Asurans' side, and she as much as said they had been trying to avoid the mainline replicators.
Spoiler: Re: Weir: Not being on the Asurans side doesn't make her a force of good, either. She's a magical replicator weir now, and that means all bets are off for what she is going to do.
I still think they failed at proper scouting, and that the beam weapons were poorly introduced. Too much in too little time, but the season was fairly strong for much of its run. The plot has been relying far too much on twists and cliches, but it still manages to maintain interest. I just hope they can break the habit before it becomes a liability.
I think it's rather bold and encouraging that the writers gave the humans Spoiler: beam weapons. And unless you're counting Atlantis only, the Spoiler: Ori have also been shown to have Spoiler: beam weapons, though I do think it was a bit confusing to have the Spoiler: Asgard uber-weapons be Spoiler: beam weapons when we'd only seen them with Spoiler: little blue bolts of light, Spoiler: little blue bolts of light that couldn't even Spoiler: punch through an Ori mothership's shields no less.
All in all, I liked the episode. It could have been much, much worse. The final camera shot could have been of Spoiler: a few replicator cells coming together and replicating until they became a maniacally cackling head of David Ogden Stiers. Also, I cheered when we saw that Spoiler: an incarnation of Weir was still alive

Putting Spoiler: all sorts of Spoiler: random words Spoiler: in s Spoiler: poiler tags is Spoiler: fun!

Using it by the word would make more sense without the (Spoiler inside) bit. Then it looks like a FOIA document, one of the ones with all the fun parts Spoiler: redacted.
