Futurama Production?

FreejackFreejack Jake the Not-so-Wise
Odd thing I overheard this morning while listening to NPR. The story was on how Newscorp has the intention of being carbon neutral by 2010 and to promote such behavoirs amoung its consumers. That does not have anything to do with Futurama per say, but they have teams that are visiting all the production offices of the different shows to promote the effort and supposed the recording of one of these presentations, according to the narrator, was at the Futurama production office.

Hmmm,

Jake

  • LoL...well, first one is due out in time for the holidays....

BTW, I've been mulling this since yesterday...what does 'carbon neutral' mean?! I still don't understand what the first post means!

Basically, it's a roundabout means of reducing pollution. In addition to reducing the amount of crap you shove in to the air, water, and land, you also invest in recycling, clean power (like solar and wind) and other cool stuff until the amount of pollution you prevent from occurring equals the amount of pollution you actually create.

It's a more complex version of how paper and pencil manufactures would brag that for every tree they cut down to make their products, they planted a new one.
  • Ah okay...that stuff that Al Gore invented to solve Global Warming. Got it;)

    Thanks for the explanation!

I had heard there were intent to film direct-to-DVDs in the works, but it had been so quiet, I guess I ASSumed that not much was happening on that front.

BTW, I love the title of the movies, esp Bender's Game.

And we get to see God again, which is cool since that's one of my favorite eps.

Godfellas is one of my favourite episodes (and it's so very hard to choose favourites in Futurama). It epitomises what the series does that makes it so great.
  • MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
    Yes, godfellas is fantastic.
  • Falcon1Falcon1 Elite Ranger
Yeah Godfellas was superb. Oh and the one where he becomes Pharaoh. "Remember me!!!"

I haven't got any... yet. Damn I knew there was something I forgot to add to that stupidly expensive dvd list of mine. Ever since Sky took itself off Virgin Media I've really missed Futurama. Grrrr!

Take off Voyager, replace with Futurama :)
