Quite a funky star and not far away either.

• "Near Earth" they say?

Maybe in some scale yes, but it sounds rather funny...

I have no idea what a neutron star is but it sounds cool so I looked it up. Quite fascinating and not somewhere I'd like to go on vacation. Average mass of 1.5 to 2X that of our sun with a diameter of 10 to 20 km. Exit velocity of 150,000 km/s, atmosphere one meter high and any matter that strikes them quickly turns to a puddle the dephth of an atom. FUN!!!
• Now we have to visit and see if the Cheela live there...

Well, we know it's not the Heechee, since they prefer Black Holes.

Neutron Stars are so yesterdays dwelling...
