Haha I like that! I would never be tempted to buy an Apple product again anyway

The thing is, do you really need all that CRAP. I went back to my ancient Nokia phone which pretty much has two basic features. It dials and recieves calls reliably. Thats all I care about.

Something doesn't add up here. Maddox is against the iPhone. Okay, that works. Maddox is in love with the Nokia Going-To-Be-A-Mushy-Buttoned-Unusable-Piece-Of-Shit-In-Three-Years-That-Won't-Hold-A-Charge-Even-If-You-Replace-The-Battery-If-History-Is-Any-Guide. Wait a minute, say that again? For God sakes, people, he literally wrote the book on manliness! So, yeah, you see him trashing the iPhone, the latest techno-gadget for limp-wristed girly men, and you think, "Yeah! Give 'em hell!" And then he brags about having a phone that's such hot shit that makes him the king of limp-wristed girly men! This guy should be bitching about text messages and custom ringtones, not saying that he wuvs them this much and any phone that won't let him have as many as he wants is a piece of crap.

Come the hell on! Smudges? Smudges? You think Chuck Norris ever worried about having finger prints on his windshield? Smudges are what go on top of the mud and blood of your enemies that decorate your steed!

Haha! True, but I think his point is that you can get all of the same features (and more) in a phone that costs $250 less and has been around for over a year.

Agreed. I don't need all of those other features because I have something called a "computer" to do everything else I need.

This was actually already posted in the old iPhone thread over here.
• heh...I thought I had posted it here..

But I care not! It deserves it's own thread! Maddox rocks!

Ok, while I am not an iPhone proponent, I think it's a lot better than this article states. In essence, the iPhone is a toy. A cool and expensive toy, but a toy nonetheless. Sure there's been too much hype for the thing, but if you're going to bash the thing, pick on the points where it actually fails, not those things that are all personal preferences. Attack the buggy Outlook synchronization, not the fact that you like buttons better than the touch screen.

Don't even get me started on ringtones. I want my ringtone to be an old fashioned ring. I kept my old samsung in vibrate all the time because it had no actual ringing tones. All it had where those lame midi techno ring tones. There's no way I'd be caught dead in public with a phone ringing to one of those tones.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I love my old Audiovox in part because it has a boring old ringtone at a particular frequency that can catch my attention even when it is across the house. Unless, of course, I forget to take it off of vibrate.
• I'm OK with ringtones....most of the time...

there are some people that manage to find the MOST annoying songs and use them. Particularly teenage girls...

I had the same problem! Damn Sprint! The only reason I had the phone (and Sprint for that matter) is because it was free and I had a $15 a month plan through work. But it still wasn't worth the trouble. The phone was shitty and I couldn't make calls because the network was even shittier.
