Whee done!! Yay! Only took me about 15 hours. I liked it. It ended differently than I thought it would, but it ended well. I'm having a lot of trouble keeping myself from giggling actually....
Wow...the end of another era....god I can't wait to see the movie of this!! :D
I have no idea how they are going to do a movie of this! They have been eliminating characters in the movies for unknown (budget?) reasons and now those characters come back and stuff.. yeah ..
On the Harry Potter boards there is one or two who work in the movie industry. They say people who read the books stop watching the movies after the 2ed or so. They don't care about them ( us ) so they wright them for people who will never read the books.
Thus there dumb. Self fulfilling. :angryv:
Random ChaosActually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
Chaosed: I think that's some flawed information you managed to pick up. Especially given how the current potter movie seems to be designed for people who have already read the book. I, as a non-reader, had a few too many questions to ask Callista when watching it for the second time. Too many bits and pieces just did not work out for me.
I agree with Sanfam, Order was definitely made for the book readers. If I hadn't already read it, I would have been confused myself.
I'm glad she is closer to saying yes to the Encyclopedia. I'd heard a few years back when she first said Book 7 was the end that she might do an Encyclopedia giving TONS more background info on characters as well as what happens to them beyond the books. For my part, that would be gold. The plot line is over, done with. We don't need any more stories set in the universe, but background information and filler details? Can't get enough of those, not in a universe as richly detailed as Harry's world!

An encyclopaedia would be interesting.
I suspect that the 5th movie is just impossible to make and fit in all the necessary detail. The 4th book was pretty heavy in detail, but the 5th is an order of magnitude more detailed.
My favourite movie is the 3rd for direction (so many cool touches, like Spoiler: the near-constant ticking in the background while they're back in time, and one scene starting and ending inside a mirror.) and 4th overall ( Spoiler: it captures the "we're all screwed" atmosphere so well). Haven't seen the 5th yet.
See, some of her hints in that article about what could come in an Encyclopedia is EXACTLY what i want to know, Spoiler: Who's Headmaster, who's teaching DADA, what is Dean's history,
Fans of the books only make up 6% of the move audience. The movies have to tell the basic story of the book and to move the story along. From some movie web sight my husband trust.

Thus there little care for the book readers. I need to see the movie more then once before I really know if I like movie 5. It is my favorite book though. Needed to be an hour longer.
And Spoiler: Ive been wearing a silly smile eveytime I think about the name "Albus Severus Potter". I knew Snape wouldnt have betrayed Dumbledore, and the thing Harry says to his son in the end "He was probably the bravest person I knew", just makes me smile.
Spoiler: the sentiment behind the name is great, but, I think Albus Snape Potter would have been better than Albus Severus Potter, But I agree, i think that was my favorite part of the book, The whole bit with Snape crying over the letter from Lilly, it just changed my whole opinion of him, and i now think he may be one of my favorite characters,

Spoiler: I agree about Snape. I was betting on him not actually having betrayed Dumbledore, but it was good to know for certain. I think Snape is probably one of the best-written characters, if not the best, in the books. He also reminds me a lot of Londo near his end: doing bad things and ultimately sacrificing himself because he knows that it's his only way to redemption and that it will be for a greater good.
