I love Christopher Walken

I really do. He's like a God unto us little people.

There's no words to express the magnificence of his being.

I miss his SNL appearances as The Continental. That was great stuff.

Apparently, Sam Rockwell portrayed Christopher Walken in a short film. I need to see this.

I thought he was funny as hell in that Brenden Frasier/Drew Barrymore flick Blast from the Past. he had me laughing my ass off.

    Haven't seen that one yet..

But it's true.. Walken is one of those actors that usually give some quality to any movie they're in. No matter how shitty everything else is.

Except that one movie with the Rock and that one guy from American Pie.

Blast from the Past is an adorable movie. It's technically a romantic comedy, but it's so creative and well done, you almost don't notice. It's somewhat like Kate and Leopold where the humor mostly comes from time/culture clashes and the girl falls in love with the guy's outdated sense of morality and chivalry. Just like in K&L, the main actor, in this case Brendan Fraser, plays his character so damn well, you just fall in love with it. Hugh Jackman in K&L did the same thing, he was just so great in the role.

By the way, Sanfam, I STILL think you should have bought that shirt at Hot Topic that says "Fear the Walken". That shirt is amazing. :D

Re: Shirt: Maybe :p On clearance for sure.

Blast from the Past is a fairly enjoyable movie, yes. It's a simple concept given an amusing 1950's twist and a great cast. More amusing, I saw it for the first time while you were at work, Callista. Two months back, I believe.

"It seems The surface is overrun with mutants!"

    Calvin: Son. Adam.
    Adam: Yes, Father?
Calvin: Don't forget: stay out of the adult bookstore.
    Adam: Adult bookstore. Why?
    Calvin: Poison gas. Invisible.

Adam: [During his first visit back home] Mom, I think I'm being chased by a Psychiatrist.
    Helen: Oh no!
    Calvin: That happens.

Eve: What kind of wife are you looking for?
Adam: Oh um, well... one who's not a mutant.
Eve: [laughs] No dogs, huh. OK. Cool.
Adam: And if it's possible, I'd like to marry someone from Pasadena.
Eve: [laughs] Um, when do you need her by?
    Adam: Two weeks?
Eve: Well, I can probably get you laid in two weeks, but to locate a non-mutant wife from Pasadena takes some time.
Adam: That's what I was afraid of.
