Whatever Happened To . . .?

Whatever happened to Liana Kemmer from "Survivors"? Did she survive President Santiago's assassination? Or what about the young telepath, Alisa Benson, from "Legacies"? Did she survive the Minbari Civil War?

I can't recall if she ever shows up again or not. I know she doesn't appear in Crysalis, but she would be on the advance team and not the active security.

Neither of them shows up again; Kemmer either died as a result of the assassination, or wasn't on EF1 at the time.

Kemmer was probably on EF1 unfortunatly so she probably is deceased, however, with the begining of hostilities in the Mimbari civil war, its entirely possible that Benson survived the civil war
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
JMS specifically said she probably was not on EF1 in his comments on Crysalis (see http://www.scifi.com/babylon5/lurk/eplist.html ). He did say that he did not know if we would see her again.

One B5 short story, "True Seeker" has Alisa Beldon (not Benson) as it's main character. And the story takes place after Minbari civil war.

Why yes I am a spaz!

sorry, wasnt paying alot of attention to this, Im suppost to be working on some philosophy stuff.

So, we have decided that the two ladies are alive and well at the end of the 5 years?
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
No.

We are pretty sure that Liana Kemmer survived past season 1. But I don't recall if she shows up again.

I don't recall if we ever see Alisa Benson again.

As for 5 years - for all we know they were assasinated - so we can't assume anything that we don't know

And besides, 5 years is not 5 seasons. Season one by itself was quite a lot more then one year. I recall seeing JMS commenting on the space between two episodes as being arround 6 months...and they only were shown about 2 weeks apart. Who knows how many years season 1 really took. Could be 1.2. Could be 3. I doubt it was much more becuase of character aging . But I am pretty sure it was more then 1 year. A story like B5 is told in peices. Events happen in order, but not in even spacing between events. In fact, two could have overlapped slightly for all we know. If you don't understand what I mean, go read Wheel of Time books where you'll have whole books overlapping each other, even though they are all a series and in order.

I'm pretty sure that each season corresponds to a year in "B5 time". In fact, I think the voice overs for the opening credits of each season actually say the year.

Yeah, but I think what RC was saying is that like in Season 1, all the events of the episodes in Season 1 happened in January of 2258...

Remember, In The Beginning was set a couple years before the first episode of B5 Season 1.

That was how JMS explained the character changes as I recall

Oh - and I know they all happened in 1 year. But there time spread isn't quite as strait forward as people believe. 1 day could pass between 2 shows. Then the next ones are a month appart. War's don't start in a year usually. Oh well...I prefer epic time spans anyway

Wrong... dead wrong. The main story of ITB took place 2246-2248 or thereabouts, possibly starting in 2245.

The Gathering, on the other hand, takes place in 2257, the year previous to season 1.

So youre basically saying the same thing.

Yeah - basically you are saying the same thing...couple years can equal 10 years - well...not technically. Perhaps I should have said a few years
• "In the Beginning" - 2245-2248

"The Gathering" - 2257

Season 1 - 2258

Season 2 - 2259

Season 3 - 2260

Season 4 - 2261

Season 5 - 2262

"The River of Souls" - 2263

thank you Sunset Girl for bringing in the actual dates, it has now been settled, and the main series DID detail the events of 5 years of time. I will bask in my vindication now
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
The Gathering was part of Season 1, so it's 6 years
• David of MacDavid of Mac Elite Ranger Ca
Well, Season one does bleed into 2259 a bit. I'm pretty sure "Chrisl—"... "Chrilys—"..., um, "Cacoon" ( ) ends on the January 2, 2259. But since the opening credits took place on December 29, 2258, it wasn't invalidated.
• TyvarTyvar Next best thing to a St. Bernard
ahemm I will respond to the critisims of my defining the main series as describing the events of 5 years in the following logical manner:

DIE HEATHENS!!
