    Yanno, i had avoided watching it, because i didn't want to get myself all excited when the release was still a ways off.

    So i finally watched it, now i'm all excited. and the release is still a ways off.

    Anyway, I hope the 'green screen' thing isnt a major flop, which I fear it will be. Also that burning satan guy makes me a bit worried about the story.. I so wish a good quality B5 at last, the other movies have sucked so much (instead of ITB ofc..).

    I miss B5 actually. I hope TLT is great. I really do, but I already know it will be far too short.

    It may be short, but if it does really way, it may pave the way for some more new stuff.

    I'm very torn about wanting more B5, and wanting B5 to be its own contained little universe not contaminated by unworthy material.

    Well the day it became available for pre-order on Amazon it went from sales rank 10,000 to 6!! Which was pretty impressive. I think the sales will be good. The boxsets pulled in over $320m for WB so there's enough fans out there (hopefully) to make this dvd release a success.

    I bought B5 season 1 a few weeks ago, I watched it through in 4 days, damn I miss B5 :(. I'm really looking foreward to TLT.

    Looks like TLT will only be available in early September over here according to play.com... so the European sales won't factor into its success right away.

    As long as its better than LOTR, i'll be happy. Main problem i had with LOTR was the actors, at least TLT has some of the original cast.

    Really looking forward to TLT :D

    My biggest complaint about B5LR was the writing, which was just plain bad. Now, add onto that the green cast and careless effects...it was just asking for trouble.

    Same here, no way am I waiting until September!

    Its odd when one looks back on LOTL the way it was so sloppy in places. Given the detail JMS puts into things and the fact he had Vejar directing it should have all been good. Wasn't meant to be I guess.

    He's always had a weak point where it comes to stories that only last a couple of hours (i.e., movies).

    He seems to need time to build up steam, I mean look at B5, while i LOVE the show, some of season 1 can be almost painful to watch. (IMHO)

    Of course, TKO wasn't written by JMS either.

    TKO and Eyes are the two episodes I skip when watching season one. There are plenty of great episodes there to balance them, though.

    The funny thing is that both those episodes were written by Larry DiTillo, who also wrote Deathwalker, Born to the Purple, A Spider in the Web, GROPOS, and Knives.

    I have to say, while Deathwalker, Born to the Purple, and A Spider in the Web were fairly good, GROPOS and Knives had much to be desired. All his episodes seemed to have a common theme: more about a base impulses than higher thinking.

    Born to the Purple: A slave and her handler
    Deathwalker: A mass murderer and immortality
    TKO: All about fighting
    Eyes: Corruption and retribution
    A Spider in the Web: A mindless assassin
    GROPOS: All about the common soldier and their base activities
    Knives: Suicide

    They also tend to have a high-testosterone character or scene:

    Born to the Purple: The handler
    Deathwalker: Jah'dur herself and Na'Toth
    TKO: The fighter
    Eyes: The colonel
    A Spider in the Web: The battles with the assassin
    GROPOS: All the grunts and the general
    Knives: The end fight

    The thing with TKO, is i LOVE the Ivanova story line, about her finally embracing her Judaism, and coming to terms with her father's death. i wish they had done more with that, and less with Smith.
