Oh my gods! Please tell me they didn't do the entire movie! L LOL, That is scarily good! Must have taken 30 years to make that!

Why is C3PO flipping me off?

Jake

• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
God, this thing is ancient. :p I'm amused that it has managed to resurface again.

Sanfam, this is one of those things, that comes up, dissapears for years, then someone rediscovers it and it sweeps the internet all over again.

Much like Hamsterdance, All your base are belong to us, and badger badger badger...

only this one is good. lol
• I want to see, but it seems telnet has been removed from Vista.:(
• Entil'ZhaEntil'Zha I see famous people
telnet's still in my copy of Vista.
• Random ChaosRandom Chaos Actually Carefully-selected Order in disguise
Why were you people gullible enough to purchase Vista?
• Entil'Zha, you just typed cmd into the search box in the start menu and from there you were able to telnet?

Gullibility had nothing to do with it. It was actually a practicality thing in my case.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
The desire to reduce your computer's practicality as a tool? ;)
• :D Not quite.

Well, it is hard to find a new computer with XP installed on it anymore.
• Entil'ZhaEntil'Zha I see famous people
Yep, start menu, cmd, telnet worked like a charm,

As for why i have vista on my machine, I had to for work, we get hundreds of people who bring in their laptops, and some are going to have vista on it, so i had to learn how it worked. and really, I actually rather like it, it works better out of the box than XP did when it came out.. IMHO it's one of the best things Microsoft has come out with in years.

Does it have flaws? sure. Do I reccomend people upgrade to it? Nope, not until SP 1, but it's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.
• I got a could not open port command. Strange I have dmz on and no firewall up... is it down?

Vista.... It's worse than people say it is. I only got it to play Halo 2 and Shadowrun. I use my XP primarly for... well everything else. Gotta love dual installs.
• Hmm. Thats interesting. The only games that have not run for me are old dos games that were ported to win95/98 like X-COM. Other than that I'm pretty much in agreement with Entil'Zha so far.

I take it then that you have Business edition? It seems telnet is included, but is not installed by default, at least in the home and ultimate editions as far as I can tell.

Anyway, That is pretty neat, though I was expecting something along the lines of the ASCII Incerdibles clip I saw once, which looked almost exaclty like the actuall movie in black and white. I have no idea where i found that though. If I can find the link I'll post it.

Update: It seems that the page has been taken down, but from the postes i have seen next to old links to it it sounds like it was just run through some coverter rather than done by hand like this one.
• BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
It was probably rendered using mplayer and aalib. We've had much fun with that (and the colour version of aalib) on a 50" plasma screen. :)
• Oh yea and about computers that don't come with XP, you still can buy it. It's just as expensive as Vista still.
• Entil'ZhaEntil'Zha I see famous people
For running old dos games in Vista (or xp for that matter) have you tried Doxbox? (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1)

i've found it works very well

As for XP being expensive, you can get an OEM version fairly cheap from Newegg.com

The only problem i had with vista, was that my Scanner is no longer supported, but it's an 8 year old scanner that i never use anyway,
• I do use dosbox for games that are still DOS based, but some of my favorites, like X-COM and Wing Commander, I do not have DOS versions of, just versions that were ported to win 95/98.
