Any Canadian B5er could help me out? (about B5 DVDs)

This is my story:

I live in Brazil and want to buy the season one DVDs. But Brazil has a 60% import tax on anything but books. Well, a friend of mine lives in Canada and is coming to Brazil for the holydays. He can bring me the boxset, so I wont have to pay any taxes. I would order it with my credit card and deliver it to his home. The problem is that amazon.ca has run out of B5 boxsets...

I want to know if Canada has any import taxes for products bought from the USA by the internet. I was planning to buy it at amazon.com and send it to him. It will be a little more expensive but still worth it, unless Canada also have some absurd import taxes. So I'd like to ask if there are any such taxes and if so, how much they cost.

Other than that, could you recommend me any other canadian online store that carries season 1 boxset?

Thanx for any help

It would probably be cheaper to buy it from Amazon.ca or from NorthAmericanDVD. I ordered mine from NorthAmericanDVD, which is in Canada...and it was cheaper.

now your only problem is the DVD Region codes for example DVDs from noth america wont play in DVD players from Eroupe Or Anywhere else...
  • DVD regions are not a problem (for me at least). My DVD player is region free...

But I'm doomed anyway... I ordered it at chapters.indico.ca, and five days later they tell me they're out of stock! It will take at least 2 weeks for them to receive more boxsets... Why the hell did they let me place the order in the first place?

Now every other canadian online shop I find won't let me create an account cause I don't live in Canada...

    Man, this really, really sucks...
