For those concerned with its present (inoperable) state, please be aware that we are in the process of upgrading the back-end to a more recent version of the mediawiki engine. This may take some time, but it will be worth it.

*UPDATE: The Great Machine is back online. (7/1/07)*

    no, it's not quite that. The server is running PHP5 just fine. The issue is either that I don't know enough, or that we lack the access to fix things. Or both. If only we had a [I]Defiant[/I] individual to fix things! ;)

    The issue is we need to upgrade to PHP5.1 because of a security hole in PHP5.0 on 64 bit machines that can be exploited through MediaWiki, and thus MediaWiki disables itself from running on PHP5.0

    Mediawiki changed the way they prohibited IP posting. I have updated the configuration to block IP posting again and deleted the spam topics.

    Blocking IPs is useless against spam - generally they are all spoofed IPs anyway. That's why we blocked IP posting in general.
