Did any of you watch Jericho on CBS? i actually thought it as a rather good show, but CBS in their infinate wisdom, canceled it, in some pretty strange circumstances, they cited ratings, and yet the ratings, while not spectacular, were good (better than many other network shows) and it was up against American Idol...
I just don't get CBS...
I just don't get CBS...

Nevermind, found it...network execs blow. I also enjoyed Close to home and New adventures of Old Christine, and THOSE got canceled too.
"The network also canceled its nuclear apocalypse drama "Jericho," another sign that networks are shying away from serial dramas after gorging on them earlier this season."--yahoo news
Serial shows (shows that have over-arcing storylines...like Babylon 5) are my favorite; it feels less like 'flavor of the week' and allows the viewer to identify more with the characters over the course of the series.
Rack 'Jericho' up with Space: Above and Beyond, Firefly, Out of Practice, Commander in Chief, and Crusade as a great show killed before its time.
Okay, it's just entertainment, but compared to other shows I watch (like CSI), Jericho held my attention and had me actually caring about the characters.
Retards.
*edit* Oh yeah, and one more thing...to leave viewers with such a cliff-hanger never to be resolved...that's just cruel. Maybe another network would be able to give it a shot? It would almost work on the Sci-Fi Channel...a damn sight better than ECW!
I am very disappointed at the moment... Sad even...
What was going to happen!! Those choppers! The train!
Don't try to. It'll break your mind.
we're all calling CBS, sending them packets of Nuts, sending emails to CBS, and our local affiliates. The more people we get to call in, (and the longer we keep the calls going) the more likely it is that CBS may listen.
The ratings were not terrible, not great, but not terrible, about 8 million viewers per ep, IN fact, the first week in May, Jericho outperformed Medium, All 3 Law and Orders, Family guy, The Simpsons, and a few others.
And yet CBS is replacing Jericho, with Kid Nation, a Lord of the Flies type Reality show, where 40 kids between 8 and 15 are left alone in a ghost town to form their own society (sounds effing lame)
So, again even though its prolly futile, go to the sites and give all the help you can.
i could even accept it more if they were replacing it with something good, but a kid reality show based on Lord of the Flies... thats just lame. Especially cause, well if they have ever read Lord of the Flies.. we know how it will end, lol

CBS May Wrap Up Jericho
CBS, which canceled the post-apocalyptic series Jericho last week, posted a statement in response to fan outcry that the show ended on a cliffhanger and promised it would wrap the show up in some fashion.
In a statement on the official show bulletin board, CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler told fans: "We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series, and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story."
In the season-one finale of Jericho, the denizens of Jericho, Kansas, were preparing to go to war with a neighboring town. The episode ended with the sound of gunfire over a black screen. After the episode aired, CBS announced that the show would not be returning for a second season in the fall, leading fans to send a raft of e-mails to the network. (SyFyPortal reported on some of the fan reaction.)
"We have read your e-mails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment," Tassler wrote. "Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the network, the production company and the incredibly talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show—both on-air and online. It is a show we loved, too. Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion."
3581 lbs of nuts
shipped 89 lbs on 5/17

shipped 1393 lbs on 5/21
yet to ship: 2075 lbs
but it's working, slowly,
there is already another ton and a half to ship tomorow.
For me personally, this is for all those Fireflies, Commanders in Chief, Space Above and Beyonds, etc out there that were un-deservingly canceled before given the chance they truly deserved as well conceived and well written shows (okay SAAB is a little iffy there, but it was cool!). The time of impotent viewers remaining at the mercy of network decisions is past, and I think we will be seeing a much more outspoken presence by the viewers in the next fiew years.
...they also have Babylon 5 on XBox Live:D
