Great news regarding the B5 DVDs
From JMS, when asked about word on the DVD sales:
All I'll say is that Warners is, apparently, stunned.

Sounds like WB wasn't expecting the numbers they're getting.
This could only mean good things for future season box sets. Let's hope we see more extra features.

Even after the good sales of the first DVD? The sales must be pretty damn good. I guess being in the top ten of Amazon is not a bad start.

Well, the first DVD cost less than $20 US ($14.95 US in some cases), so it would naturally sell more copies than a $50+ DVD set.
It's hard to measure how one will sell based on the other when the price is so different.
After all...I buy the Star Trek films on DVD, but not the series.

hopefully the will find more time (and money) for the extras, like more audio commentaries, deleted scenes... (and maybe not cut half the extras from the R2 DVD-release *grmpf*)
yes i will see episode-trailer on rc2 versions too not onlyx on the rc1 boxsets
>Great! While WB is in this condition, do you think you could take
>advantage of them and get them to move up the release date of Season 2?
I don't know if they'll be able to move up the date, which last I heard was about April, but I did hear the other day that they want to get the next set up and running asap. It's suddenly become a priority item.
Who'd've imagined?

Looks like we could be seeing Season 2 around April 03 or earlier:

Good, then I can get it for my Birthday... Season 1 for Christmas, Season 2 for BD, Season 3 for Christmas, Season 4 for BD, and then Season 5 for Christmas again. Perfect...

I got mine today, too. So far, I've watched both documentaries, browsed through the interactive guide (not bad) and listened to half of JMS' commentary on "Chrysalis". I'm surprised that the commentary has information that I've never heard before.
I'm watching the Episodes first (and of course the preview before each ep) Then i'll go back and do the commentary etc. Unless of course i just continue with season 2 on video tape.
Re-watchin the first season again, its amazing how many issues get brought up, and then basically dropped for several seasons, Or get brought up, and then don't fully develop for a season or 2.
The Homeguard, Jason Ironheart, who basically "Becomes" like the firstones, The Firstones at Sigma 957, All these Thigns get brought up, and then you don't find out the signifigance of them for 2, or 3 seasons.
Brilliant, Absolutly Brilliant. I love Epics.

I actually had an argument with a girl a few days ago about that. She was telling me all about the different ways in which Babylon 5 had ripped of Star Trek. So I asked her how many seasons of the show she saw, and where she started from. She said she had only seen about 4 and couldn't remember what they were about . Crazy...
I assume you slapped her around a bit?

You have to remember that JMS & D. Netter spent five years trying to get the show aired with various studios including those who make DS9,
so ask yourself one question isn't it more likely that DS9 ripped off B5.

Funny thing, I got mine at Costco for $69,
I went back there 2 days later, actually to buy the LOTR Gift Set, (which they didn't have) And i went up to the manager, and asked why that they had the LOTR Box set listed on their website, but didn't have it, and did NOT have the B5 box set on their website, but did have it.
And he said "we didn't order the b5 box set, it was sent to us by mistake, so we sold it anyway, and we sold out of all copies in 24 hours"
he was amazed at how fast it sold.
