Drive

Falcon1Falcon1 Elite Ranger
Anyone watching the new series Drive? Got Nathan Fillion in it. Not bad so far. Interestingly it has the bounty hunter from Firefly in it playing a detective.

Isn't that the show FOX pulled after 2 episodes?

Yup looks like, just read the news on TV.com. Apparently 9 episodes have been done. I've seen 4 so far.

Oh well another show that Fox has killed off.

Which one exactly? That applies to just about every FOX show.

Yeah... and another with a Josh Whedon link... Tim Minear was co ex-producer on this one.

    Why don't these people learn?

Who Fox or Josh and Tim? :p

I dunno I think Josh Whedon has been treated badly since Buffy ended. Angel could have had another 2 seasons and we all know how great Firefly was. Maybe they offered him a 2nd chance with Serenity... and that didn't work. Oh well such is life in show business.
  • SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
The question is...does the show's quality warrant such early cancellation? If it was killed this soon, it must be amazing!

The people who work with Fox and get constantly cancelled. Fox wasn't involved in Serenity. After Firefly was treated so badly, why did they go back?
  • Entil'ZhaEntil'Zha I see famous people
I had actually wanted to watch this have a couple eps on my Tivo, and most of the critics seemed to like it, but it got poor ratings. so they yanked it.

There needs to be a way for quality tv shows out of the tv business.

The problem is, that the tv-show business-model is outdated. In a time of globalization and the high-speed internet, the studios should be able to sell the tv-shows to a global audience from the get-go. While only 4 million viewers might have watched in the US on TV, with a proper distribution (and marketing) model, at least the same amount could have watched international, thus making the show viable. Also, through DVDs, people have become much more independant of TV-schedules. I for one want to watch shows when i like, not when some suit thinks I should.
And I won't even start to talk about the current method of determining the audience (nielsen boxes etc.)
