Also nominated were BSG's "Downloaded," and Doctor Who's "School Reunion," "The Girl In The Fireplace" and "Army Of Ghosts/Doomsday."

I think SG1 should win, partly out of loyalty, but mainly because 200 was just so damn funny! Did anyone see the 'Behind the making of' feature on 200?

My loyalty is purely for the doctor!

I like all three series nominated, although I have to admit that I believe Girl in the Fireplace is the most likely to win.

Worf, I agree, GITF was one of those ones that just left me thinking afterwards. A great Who.

I agree with Dax, my loyalty is entirely for the Who at this point. And GitF was an amazing episode. I loved the music for that one. Though, Army of Ghosts/Doomsday has a good shot too, that ending....omg that ending......did you know that the end of Doomsday was voted in Britain as the best TV moment of the year? How anyone could watch that and not cry is beyond me.

For me, it's a tie between "Fireplace" and "Downloaded." I have little doubt it'll go to "Fireplace," though.

I honestly don't care which it goes to as long as it goes to Who. I am so in love with this show right now I want it to last forever and any bloody thing that gives it attention and praise and proves it's worth is a happy thing.

Well I think you're plain wrong but thats just my humble opinion :D SG-1 is far better!

I will agree with you that GitF was a great episode that I did really enjoy, but the last season was just pure rubbish. I couldn't watch it, it was just so bad. It was the same thing every single episode (admittedly, those that i saw so there may have been some good ones in there); they go in, they get in trouble, the sidekick shouts "Doctor!", he whips out the sonic screwdriver and solves every problem they come across with it, the music gets really loud and then they save the day and lurch on to the next misadventure.

I know its about episodes, not the series as a whole but thats how I see it :p

On another note about Stargate in general (link contains spoilers for end of season 3 for anyone who hasn't seen it yet)

gateworld is reporting
that Dr Beckett isn't totally dead after all and will be making a comeback in season 4! Not only am I thrilled that one of my favourite characters isnt dead, but what an attitude from the producer! If only there were more out there like that!
• WORFWORF The Burninator
Sanfam isn't going to like that.

Spoiler: Maybe Beckett's a Cylon

If you didn't see The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit (two-parter), then that's the only way I could understand you having that opinion. Those two episodes were amazing.

That's what Doctor Who has pretty much always been like, only now it happens in one to two 45 minute episodes instead of four to six 22 minute episodes. The current series is following a very similar formula to that always used, only now the individual stories actually tend to have more connectivity between them within a single series.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
Callista knows my reaction to that perfectly well ;)

I'm in near full agreement with ShadowDancer. I differ in that I don't see it as a terribly bad thing as the joy comes from the character interaction in the particular episodes, their development, and *how* the plot is sealed up rather than the MadLibs-esque plot itself.

I'll make one additional point: I'm a big fan of the Sonic Screwdriver. It always comes off as a cheap device to be used any time the plot needs a bump, either due to the writers creating too much drama or a situation in which the characters cannot think themselves out of. When the Sonic Screwdriver is pulled out for anything more than that which a normal screwdriver would be used for, it seems to trivialize the role of the characters. Take, for example, the sonic screwdriver "death ray" as used against the Cybermen after they had nearly trapped our heroes in an inescapable situation, or a similar use of it through a karaoke system in Runaway Bride (though that at least made some form of sense...but I still did not like it). I was rather pleased to have it thoroughly destroyed in Smith/Jones. Made me all happy inside that the characters had to prove their worth with good writing and well-thought actions.

Ok...I think you meant to say you're NOT a big fan of it then....might wanna edit that post.

And as much as I really want to disagree and argue with anyone who says the show is anything less than fantastically excellent, I'm getting tired and I've already had it out with Sanfam enough as it is so I will abstain from saying anything but I love the show to death and I think it's fantastically excellent. Period. Moving on.
