Asus laptops usually look better (design and display) than those made by Dell, but they are not more reliable. At least that's my experience with Dell laptops. :D

My Dad got a 500$ asus laptop a few years ago for simple stuff (Spreadsheets mainly)...

it's a solid little bugger, because I have a tendancy to use Photoshop and Indesign and Blender on it like MAD when I'm at home. LOL I abuse that thing and it runs great. :D

I never liked Asus. I know I'm in the minority here, but I think HP makes a good computer. I like their newest generation of laptops.

I'm going to chime in with my mandatory "Sanfam Hates Glossy LCD Screens" post.

I hate glossy LCD screens and the fact that they are all the rage right now.

I also agree with the glassy LCD screen...

I long ago decided that the person who came up with glossy screens as a good idea should be sentenced to death by a thousand mirrors reflecting the Sun.

    Well... Got it now..

Not the one I wanted, but should be enough for my needs for the next year or two.

Definitely not a powerfull machine but its okay..

    So, the specs..

CPU is Duo T5500 (about 1.66 ghz)

    15 inch screen

    120 gb hd

    1 gb ram (ddr 2)

    geforce go 7300

Cost me about 500 euros.. well, 500-600 about.
