Because it's easier for the human mind to think like that. We've evolved in that situation, we tend to grow up in that situation, so we naturally try and place everything in the same plane.

And ACTUALLY there IS up on space. Up is always what is up relative to your position. Up in space is just not always in the same constant direction. [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/wink.gif[/img]
