Could have been better 7 out of 10.

I'm tempted to continue discussing this in vague and useless terms in order not to spoil things, but oh well. What didn't you like?
• MundaneMundane Elite Ranger
Unsure, cannot point it out, but I felt something was missing.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but here are a few points that this viewer complained about: Am I The Only One?

More when I've seen it myself. Seems to me that this movie is a variation on "28 Days Later."

That review is beyond imbecilic. I'd go into it, but you wouldn't understand without seeing it, and I don't want to spoil anything.

Lol! Well I guess if you're not ripping it to shreds it must mean something :D I'll be checking it out next time I go to see a movie.

a couple of my mates went to see it and they said it was worth a look. i'll probably get it when its released on dvd in a week or two

i was trying to remember what the last thing i actually saw at the movies was, and i think it was ice age 2. i always say i'll go see some movie, but i never do
• Yea, that review misses the point. The film is about the journey to saftey and what is at stake, not the hows or whys.

We went to see it, and I really enjoyed it, but my wife actually had the same complaints that that reviwer did.

From a technical standpoint it was fairly impressive as well. There are multiple long shots where almost the entire scene is one long take, and it includes action, explosions, chases, and gun play all in one take. Quite impressive chorography and timing to get everything to work just right.

Yeah, the third long shot was actually done in a single take on the last day of shooting on that set. Spoiler: The blood was removed digitally; it's not a blended take. There were rough spots and I have my criticisms, but there was some really, really good directing in there.

Spoiler: The ending bothered me, though. Cutting to the title card abruptly like that struck me as.. bizarrely lazy. Theo's "death" also seemed rather contrived for a movie that was, up to that point, very messy and realistic, even if they didn't make that clear. Mostly, though, it was the ending at the very end that felt strange.
• I liked the random horde that charges them and there were alot of surprises in the movie. Totally unpredictable. Spoiler: I think they should have cut at the end instead f showing the ship it would have gone from Epic ot Legendary.

Also note that there were half a dozen writers involved in the film so this wasn't a one man deal. But that did make it great. Just wish whoever wrote the ending would have gotten the boot. has anyone actually read the book though?

Spoiler: Honestly, I think I'd defer to what Burgess had to say about the US ending to his book. Cutting it short and just leaving them out there is a cute nihilistic fable, but it's also much more immature and lazy.
• Whatever i didn't like the ending it still left questions but what were you hoping for Arethusa the human race to survive or end as it was?

Spoiler: they really made a good point oh theres the baby oh it got through all of the shooting ok lets go back to what we were doing and kill each other again.

The birth scene was pretty closeup and detailed...
